I just also felt like I was a visitor in like Hollywood land. I always felt like kind of an outsider and it wasn’t until I had kids where it just… I don’t know something like resonated that it was like, “Oh, what I’m supposed to bring is my authentic, all of myself.” I think it’s important to tell young women actors that it doesn’t end when you have kids.

If people heard me talk about gay people at age 14 they would have thrown stones at me. So many factors in your upbringing can shape initial believes until you go out there and experience real life.
