“It’s easy to take off your clothes and have sex. People do it all the time. But opening up your soul to someone, letting them into your spirit, thoughts, fears, future, hopes, dreams… that is being naked.”
— Rob Bell

one day, you will find yourself being loved by entirely new people and wonder why you were ever worried you’d never find them
“I don’t want to be someone’s second choice.”

i may as well be yapping to a brick wall but i’m gonna talk about this scene anyway
cause what is so endearing and special to me, and what is one of the many reasons why i love clexa so much, is the domesticity of this scene, or more so what must’ve happened for them to get to this point
some way they end up in the comfort of lexa’s room together, each doing their own thing in peace and quiet
clarke went up to lexa’s room, “can i draw here?”
or
lexa invited clarke “would you like to spend time in my room while i read later?”
or
clarke was already there when lexa entered “i hope it’s okay i let myself in, my room’s too quiet”
or
they walked up to lexa’s room together after a meeting, not having to exchange a single word
and that same thing applied when they sat down, they don’t need to speak, are comfortable enough with one another to have some quiet time, where they can practice their hobbies and relax and be at peace and for a moment not have to owe anyone anything
a time when lexa felt so safe and comfortable with clarke up to the point where the rythm of her quiet breathing and the sound of the charcoal against her paper put her to sleep
not to mention clarke was technically lexa’s prisoner when this happened, but this didn’t change anything between them, i’m not even sure clarke minded
between the violence, the wars, the bloodshed, the politics, the betrayal and the lies, they can sit together and do their own thing in silence, a silence that’s actually silent as opposed to the loud silence in their heads when they’re alone at night, a kind of silence that reminds clarke of wednesday afternoons with her father and that reminds lexa of vast fields with costia
this scene can’t have been the first or last time they spend quiet time together, maybe clarke reads a book in the corner of the throne room while lexa finishes the last of the letters she’s writing, maybe lexa meditates with the sound of clarke brushing her hair in the background, maybe clarke draws again, lexa reads again, clarke naps, lexa braids, clarke paints, lexa cleans, clarke folds clothes, lexa lights candles, clarke draws again, and lexa reads again
are you going to obsess over me or what?
“When you love someone, when you care for someone, you have to do it through the good and the bad. Not just when you’re happy and it’s easy.”
— Lauren Olivier
not to be fake deep but we’re soaring, flying. there’s not a star in heaven that we can’t reach, if we’re trying, so we’re breaking free.
I text back fast with no shame. yes, I want to talk to you.
