Taking a break from TWD stuff to work on more refs for Artfight. I randomly got the inspiration to draw my HTTYD ocs the other day, so here they are! Bragur and Whisper! Dragon rider and dragon! The best of friends! I’m still working on their story, so I’ll likely explain that some other time.

I see so many arguments over what is and isn't "good queer representation" that really just boil down to "y'all are actually arguing over matters of taste and genre preference, which is incredibly subjective and personal."

Worldbuilding where being queer is normalized and queerphobia has no impact on the plot? THAT'S FINE. Worldbuilding that includes queerphobia and tackles the effects of it as part of the story? THAT'S ALSO FINE.

Low-stakes queer romcom where the characters are fluffy and cute? THAT'S COOL. Messy queer drama with toxic people who fuck each other over and clash repeatedly? THAT'S ALSO COOL.

Stories that center the characters' queerness, show a trans character's transition, and are about the queerness as much as the rest of the plot? AWESOME. Stories where the characters' queerness isn't treated as a big deal, and have trans characters whose transition happened before the story entirely? ALSO AWESOME.

You may PREFER one thing or another, but it is actually good to have all these things. It's about variety. It's about queer characters being allowed to exist without censorship. It's about queer artists getting to make things without being told we're a "niche issue" or "adult content." It's about having as many goddamn cakes as the bakery can produce.

At the end of the day, I'd prefer a media landscape with fifty pieces of problematic queer representation over a media landscape with one single piece of queer representation that's trying (and usually failing) to be 100% perfect for everything and everyone.

Oh this is a common scam I find at work. Any file that:

isn't jpg, jpeg, pdf, or png

Is a file extension you don't recognise (this one is a visual basic file, used for scripting, but others like exe or bat are used)

has a very low or unexpected file size (this one's is less than 1KB, or 0.001MB, a good reference should be at least 500KB)

Is likely a scam. Stay safe kids.

Apparently it’s impossible for me to go one fandom without an oc x canon ship. I thought this one would be the one, but alas…

Biochemistry! Or Eugelix if you’re boring /j. Their main ship name is biochemistry because Felix is a biologist, and I’ve always associated Eugene with chemistry the most, so together they’re Biochemistry. Plus, they both have an interest in biochemistry, so it’s perfect. 

I realised their potential and started shipping them back when we were watching S5. Idk why it took me so long to draw ship art of them. I will be drawing more (& interaction doodles because I love their interactions. They’re the type of guys to have intellectual discussions but then also have the most pointless arguments on random things).

a funny thing about having a Problematic Blorbo is that you'll periodically come across a post along the lines of "um let's not forget that [Blorbo] is a bad person..." listing their various crimes, and if you have a modicum of intellectual honesty you find yourself nodding along and saying yeah it's true... but it's the greyness of their character that makes them so compelling... At the same time though you have a little Saul Goodman in your ear going "your honor in their defense: who cares like omfgggg who caresssssss like come onnnnnn"

How very depressing that Neil Gaiman had trended not even a tiny bit for demonstrating what a fucking horrific person he is.

As a reminder, he's suing Caroline Wallner, one of his accusers, for breaking her NDA. Not for libel. He's saying she shouldn't have told anyone about it, not that she lied.

The author says Wallner broke her NDA by sharing her story with the media, including with New York Magazine.

He doesn't need the money. He's risking the Streisand effect. He is punishing Caroline, he's trying to intimidate other victims who have signed NDAs to scare them into continued silence.

He is no friend to women, to the LGBTQIA+ community, to anyone quite frankly unless he thinks they are of value to him.

Share the story. Put it on Facebook and bluesky and whatever else you're on. Make it clear what a horrifying person he is. Tell your friends. He's paying Edendale a fortune to try and cover this up. Make this hard for him. Make it cost him money.

Some doodles from today. First we have S11 Felix having a wonderful time! (He hates it here. And by here I mean the Commonwealth).

After getting shot, Felix’s first thought is ‘fuck this hurts so much’, but his first words are ‘I’m okay’. His second thought is ‘finally! Now I’m truly part of the gang!’. (y’see the joke is that ‘everyone’ gets shot at some point).

I love Eugene so much. He’s one of the ‘literally me’ characters that is actually ‘literally me’ (along with Abed Nadir from Community). If a zombie apocalypse happened, I fear I would act exactly like Eugene. I too would lie to get the protection of someone far more capable of surviving than me.
