Well this was… not something you see everyday. Leo only now noticed that this stranger had a tail and ears on his head. Almost like he was… well. A cat. Huh. Not like he could really judge, though.
“Oh– okay, I mean. At least you caught yourself!” He smiles weakly, not really sure how to comfort this guy; he seemed really paranoid and jumpy, almost as if he was actually a cat. Maybe he’d just…
“Sorry if this is rude, but.. are you half cat or something? I mean.. I guess the ears and tail kind of give some of that away, but…” Leo shrugs, not entirely sure of where to go with that. He just wanted some sort of explanation, really. Maybe he could somehow help this guy calm down a little better if he knew the situation. Half-cat? Toss him a ball of yarn. That could work, right?
Cheshire’s ears flicked further back, nearly plastering to his head, slightly self-conscious of being around a stranger in this state. “Nya, Cheshire usually does,” he mumbled, glancing away. He needed to find someone to curl up with, someone who would reassure him that he hadn’t been left alone to all of that coldness, that loneliness.
His head snapped back at the question, ears perking up slightly. “Nya, Cheshire isn’t half-cat,” he stated. “Cheshire is a cat, nya.” He brought one paw up to lick at it with his tongue, a familiar motion to try to calm himself down a little bit. “Cheshire is Alyss’ cat, nya, and Cheshire would do anything to protect Cheshire’s precious.”
