We live in an age where we feel guilt whenever we have to cut someone off but the reality is that some relationships do need to die, some people do need to be unfollowed and defriended. We aren’t meant to be this tethered to the people in our past. The Internet mandates that we don’t burn bridges and keep everyone around like relics but those expectations are unrealistic and unhealthy. Simply put, we don’t need to know what everyone else is up to. We’re allowed to be choosy about who we surround ourselves with online and in real life, even if it might hurt people’s feelings. We weren’t meant to carry all this weight around on our backs. If you need to cut the fat, if you need to unfollow, if you need to erase, just do it. Because what’s more important: keeping yourself happy or appeasing your ex-best friend from middle school?

Fucking thank you

I needed this today, I’ve been thinking a lot about saying good bye. My big move to Colorado is less than a month and a half away and although the internet allows it, I don’t feel I should remain connected to a lot of people that currently hold as friends. Friendship takes effort, care, love, patience, all attributes that would be wasted on many. I don’t feel guilty for not upholding these relationships or even desiring to. Those that I will truly miss will remain close to my heart always for love crosses all boundaries of time and space.

can you believe that some people actually have loving and healthy relationships with their parents? wild
i firmly believe that deja vu is a sign on you’re on the right path.
