Su cuy'gar, vod.
Niner’s eyes gazed up at the woman, obviously glad he had an distraction from fixing the broken speeder beside him. “Su cuy’gar,” he repeated, slinging the dirty rag he had in his hands over his shoulder. “You don’t happen to have an extra speeder engine, do you?”
“Um, can I follow you? I’m a little… lost…”
He turned to the woman and examined her as if determining if she was a threat or not. He shrugged. “I don’t see why not.”
"Thank you," she replied, smiling shyly.
"Wow. I did not expect that to... burn this quickly."
"… Where the hell is my sketchpad?"
Jeremiah holds out a sketchpad “This it?”
"Um... yes, it is. Thank you."

"I don’t, friend," she admitted, smiling sheepishly. "I’m sorry. Plenty of scrap metal and electronics, though."
He turned back to the speeder and wiped the sweat from his forehead. “That’s fine, ma’am. Thank you.”
He looked over into the engine and sighed as he saw the black billowing smoke. “Guess I’m walking.”
"Um, can I follow you? I'm a little... lost..."
"Excuse me, Ma'am?"
Maryland looked up from her paperwork and blinked. “Yes?” She asked, taking the new soldier in. “How may I help you?”
"Ooohhhh… Sounds like a story there." Rho remarked, letting of several holographic hearts. "Tell tell!
"Not really a story… we were… close. Good friends. Neighbors. We did everything together, the three of us… Sal and Dean and me…"
"Sal?" She asked, intently listening.
"Um, Sal Marino. He's... a lawyer in New York now."
"Um, excuse me?"
"Yes?"Â
"Thank you, Miss…"
"Hey, it’s no problem."
The woman smiled sheepishly and looked down. "It's not every day a stranger helps you out."
"Um, excuse me?"
"Yes?"Â
"Just lost," she mumbled, looking shyly away.
"Oh. Well… Here, why don’t you come in and have a drink. I’ll help you figure out how to get where you’re going."
"Thank you, Miss..."
"Um, excuse me?"
"Yes?"Â
"Can you tell me… where I am?"
"You’re in Freeside, miss. You feeling alright?"
"Just lost," she mumbled, looking shyly away.
"Um, excuse me?"
"Yes?"Â
"Can you tell me... where I am?"
30 Days of Character Development: Day 14
Day 14:
Do they, or have they in the past, had a mentor? What was their relationship with this person, and how has it changed since then? What sort of education have they had? Do they want more? Who was their idol growing up? Who was the first person they fantasized about?
Leanne’s teachers never thought much of her. She was a fairly smart girl, but never worked very hard to improve her grades. As it was, she floated through school on B’s and graduated high school on time, then went to join the military.
In certain AUs she is training to become a medic.
30 Days of Character Development: Day 13
Day 13:
Where (and when) did they grow up? How did they view it as a child, and did that change as they matured? How do they feel about the place now?
Leanne grew up in Sioné, Kansas, a small town out in the middle of nowhere, in the 2050’s (Fallout “canon”). She despised it as a child and still despises it; going home even for a short time feels alien to her. She views her life before the military as some kind of bad dream, but now that she has no real place to belong, Sioné isn’t so bad.
"Excuse me, Ma'am?"
Maryland looked up from her paperwork and blinked. “Yes?” She asked, taking the new soldier in. “How may I help you?”
"Should I be surprised? Those kinds of people always seem to start out that way." Rho giggled before her avatar gave off a serious of musical chirps. “So you two were… close?”
Blushing, she bit her lip. “Yeah. We were neighbours… best friends. There was three of us… spent all our time together.”
"Ooohhhh… Sounds like a story there." Rho remarked, letting of several holographic hearts. "Tell tell!
"Not really a story... we were... close. Good friends. Neighbors. We did everything together, the three of us... Sal and Dean and me..."
30 Days of Character Development: Day 12
Day 12:
Describe their best and worst memories from childhood.
Best memory: Any of the days she spent with her best friends, smoking cigarettes and talking, wandering around town.
Worst memory: The death of her father when she was five, or her mother remarrying when Leanne was six.
30 Days of Character Development: Day 11
Day 11:
What were they like as a child? What was their favorite toy? Favorite game? Playmates? What did they want to be when they grew up?:
Leanne’s biggest playmates were her best friends, Dean and Sal, whom she had known since age five. She was an often moody child with anger issues stemming from a hostile home environment. Though she did not possess much in the way of toys or material possessions, her ideal gift was a leather jacket, or boots, or a sketchpad and pencils. Leanne would spend hours sketching when Dean and Sal were unavailable.
Leanne did not want to be a homemaker, but knew it was probably her only option as a woman in the Pre-War world.
30 Days of Character Development: Day 10
Day 10:
Relationships and history: What is their family history like? How does it affect them? How do they feel about their family? How does their family feel about them?: Leanne’s family is ashamed of her for not being a typical, ladylike woman. In fact her behavior would often earn her punishments, in the form of physical abuse, from her stepfather.
Leanne’s siblings tend to ignore her, refusing to admit they have a sister who was drafted.
"Um, excuse me... ma'am...?"
Kaikaina put her hands on her hips, standing on the ramp up into the mostly abandoned base. “You here for the rave? Five bucks cover charge, three if you brought booze, we’ll talk if you brought somethin’ else.”
Lee blinked. “Rave? You’re… using a base for raves?”
"Uhhhh…yeah. What else would it be good for?" She rolled her eyes.
"Um, military operations? Training?"
"Pff…that stuff’s boring."
"... True. But... still."
