Summary:Â Based on the 1999 film The Mummy. John Watson served with her regiment in a battle at the supposedly mythical city of Hamunaptra, barely escaping it alive. Now sheâs washed up in Cairo, with no money and no way out of the prison she got herself put in for getting into a nasty bar fight. Enter Sherlock Holmes, a historian of sorts whose sister raided the gambling den and pub John had been frequenting and confiscated something John had taken from Hamunaptra. The Holmes sisters arrive unexpectedly to get John out of prison under the agreement that sheâll take Sherlock to Hamunaptra, and presumably whatever secrets lie there. From there, though, things get a lot more complicated - running into another expedition led by a bastard of a man from her regiment followed by Sherlock accidentally raising the dead and nearly causing what feels like the end of the world sort of complicated.

Summary:Â John and Sherlock meet in a bookstore and become friends. Sherlock needs a flatmate so she invites John to move in. John works as a GP at a clinic and also helps Sherlock in her consulting detective work. After sharing a flat for several months, John finally acts on her feelings toward Sherlock. It goes well until Sherlock puts herself out as bait for a serial killer. After a close call with the killer, Sherlock finally opens up to John about her true feelings. Can they come to a compromise that meets both their needs?
This is not a fix-it/magic cock fic. John doesnât âfixâ Sherlock in any way. Because Sherlockâs not broken.

Â Sherlock is way more supportive than most ever expected her to be, tries not to stick her foot in her mouth most of the time, and fails completely at being subtle. Â They both eat far to much take out, have a row a frankly ridiculous time of the morning, and (inevitably) fall in love.

A 34-year-old Joan Watson, who grew up in a small town in the Midlands, returns home after having spent 14 years in the city where she trained to become a nurse during WWII. Now that both her parents are dead and her brother has settled down in London to work as a lawyer, Joan has decided to sell her fatherâs farm.
Soon, she has to realise that returning to her roots isnât as painless and uncomplicated as she had anticipated. She is confronted with unpleasant memories she had long buried at the back of her mind. If selling the farm and battling with her demons wasnât difficult enough in itself, a 30-year-old murder case is resurrected and stirs up conflicts within the small community.
Then Joan is confronted with Sherlock Holmes who owns the biggest estate in the county. She thinks she can solve the murder and put things back to the way they were. When she enlists Joanâs help, Joan follows her willingly wherever Sherlock chooses to go.

what this means is that you should have an outline or rough version of your story but all iâll really need from the authors is a short (about a paragraph) summary that i can use in the post that allows artists to pick their stories!!!

I was only asking because I've never written a fic of that length before, not because I wouldn't try to do it. I guess in that case, I needn't have asked and instead I should have just tried harder to estimate whether I can do it. Thanks anyway!
If you do want to try, there is a period of time where you can choose to drop out if you donât think youâll make it - also there is the possibility that you could just finish late! And thatâs okay too! Thereâs always a first time for everyone for fandom activities like this, but ultimately itâs up to you if you want to try it or think you can do it or not.
Right now we have six registered writers and two registered artists!! I have had one occurrence where someone tried to send me an application and it didnât go through, so it had to be resent, if you want to make sure I got your app, just message me and I can let you know!!
In the mean time, though, if you all know any femlock artists you want to hit up and see if theyâd like to help out, that would be great. I would love to be sure that weâll have enough artists for all the fics.
Does the fic really have to be 12,000 words long? I'm not sure I can do that...
that is the point of a big bang, iâm afraid!!
we had a vote last year and 12000 words was the length decided on. if you want to write something shorter itâs always lovely to have more femlock fic in the world but the point of this challenge (and it is definitely a challenge!!) is to write an entire 12000 word fic in four (or five if you registered in april and started then) months.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!!! iâve already had a couple of people register, which is fantastic, but you have all month if youâd like to nail down a story idea before you sign up!!!!!
Is it a requeriment to do an art for the fic? And, has the story to be in english?
youâll be assigned an artist to do art for your fic, you donât have to do the art yourself. :)
 however, since thatâs the case, i worry that it would be hard to find an artist to illustrate for a non-english story. if youâre confident that you can tell an artist what youâd like them to draw for your story in english or you think thereâs a chance thereâll be an artist who speaks your language, then i suppose no the story wouldnât have to be in english. iâm willing to try and make it work for you because there should be more femlock in every language!Â
