The dead canât mourn so why should I?
âUgh,â Anderson said as she stood looking out the window of her fathers manor. With a gust of air from her mouth, she blew away the bangs that had fallen into her eyesight and pushed her body from the wall she had been leaning against.
It had never been this boring before when she would come to visit. Maybe it was because it was her first time in the U.K. as an adult or maybe it was because her brother was working all weekend, but Anderson was going stir crazy. Maybe she could go to Diagon Ally. Just this once without Sebastian.
Normally her brother preferred to be with her when she went out into the wizard of world. Things were so different there than they were in America. It was a habit he had formed when she was young and would visit on Summer vacations. âWell, this isnât a vacationâ.
Turning on one foot, Anderson spun until she found her footing in an empty ally. She straightened her clothes clumsy and made her way to the cobblestone path. It was beautiful, people in all different colored cloaks and hats. She was obviously out of place in her mortal clothes but she didnât care.
She made her way through the streets looking at everyone and the stores wondering where to go first in this new adventure.
âWe need more of your motherâs potion maâam. Sheâs getting low..â The small house maiden spoke to Aradia in hushed tones. The tiny woman could hear her mother, muttering to herself about demons and angels again. âIâll make sure I get some more on my way out. Keep her preoccupied in the meantime.â Aradiaâs tone was sincere but the grim reality of her motherâs state hung heavy in the air. She couldnât take long while she was out. Work pulled her in one way and her motherâs well being was deteriorating. Aradia didnât know how much longer she would be able to balance the two without losing it herself. Normally, she was well composed on the outside. Inside? Well, she just didnât talk about that. Ruby red locks swarmed around her as the wind pushed through the little alleyways. Heeled stilettos sounded on the cobblestone, her head pushed in pure determination to accomplish what she needed to do. Dipping into the small herb shop she grinned at the smell, soaking up the different aromas that hit her at once. If anything school taught her it was that potions, when properly executed could save or kill anyone and anything. âMadam Tasmin, I see youâre looking lovely as ever.â The small elf like owner called from behind the counter. âYes, I needed some things for a tonic. Iâll help myself Henry.â She called out with a small polite grin. âHope things are going well at the Ministry. I havenât seen you in quite some time.â He called back to her. Green hues narrowed at the floor while she moved towards the back. She couldnât stand small talk. Hearing bells at the door her eyes moved to follow the person entering. Â

It didnât take long for Anderson to find a potions and herb shop. It send her heart fluttering as she bound through the doors.
âWelcome!â The creature said from behind the counter, moving towards her. âIs there anything youâre looking for in particular?â
Anderson waved her hand. âNo, thanks. Iâm really just looking around.â
The elf nodded and bowed before going back to his work. It always felt strange to Anderson, that people, well creatures, bowed to others. In America, there would be upheaval. Still, it was almost unnoticed by herself when she gave a small bow back to the elf.
The books were few and Anderson had already read most of them, but the ingredients were.. magnificent! With her wand, the small girl conjured up a small wicker basket and began looking through the bat wings and honey bee stingers. It was harder to find the old magic ways on America, the roots were all here, in the U.K. with the Celtic magic.
âHave you ever seen such an amazing assortment of potion ingredients in your life!?â her tone was excited and she was speaking to no one in particular but it brought her attention to the woman standing opposite on the isle.
With a small smile, Anderson lifted a hand to say âexcuse meâ and continued to silently squeal over her good fortune.
Aradia heard the girl come and a small smile peaked up at the corner of her lips. Moving through the various things she found herself pulling mermaidâs scale from the shelf. Looking over at the tiny brunette she grinned. She knew that she wasnât speaking to her directly but she couldnât help respond. âOh you should see some of the shops in Egypt then. The most jaw dropping selections ever.âShe stated as her eyes narrowed, looking for a certain potion. âI canât seem to find it...âShe muttered to herself, hoping that she wasnât out of luck. Calling over to the elf behind the counter her green hues looked over the tiny woman. âIt seems youâve moved a few things around... I need a bit of Draught of Peace...âShe said before the storeâs keeper pointed closer in the direction of the other girl. âRight to the left of her.â He stated. Approaching her left side, Aradia took in her wardrobe. âAre you visiting?â She questioned with a small smile. The femme could pick up on an almost serene sense of character. Though the young woman was guarded she always enjoyed being around the people who just seemed truly good to her. She always marveled and wondered how people could be carefree in a manner.Â
Grabbing the Draught of Peace she finally found she smiled. âFound it.âShe looked over, stating to the other girl. âIâm Aradia by the way.âShe introduced herself, not wanting to seem rude.Â

The pictures moved in front of the red headâs face. Bodies ripped to shreds glared back at her in a taunting manner. Green hues narrowed as she pushed locks from her forehead with a frustrated motion. âI need a fuckinâ drinkâŠâ Aradia hissed out with a disappointed growl. Grabbing the emerald jacket behind her chair, she pushed off to get away.  This case was starting to haunt her. âTell my mother Iâll be out for a bit. Iâll be back in tonight to make sure she gets her night potion.â Aradia spoke to the small house elf beside her. Her tone was firm, but the house elf knew the woman meant no ill intent. âWork calls again, maâam?â She questioned. A small almost inaudible laugh escaped the femmeâs lips. âIf thatâs what you must tell her, we can go with that.â Before the conversation went any further Aradia apparated. Her bosses lecture from earlier in the day bounced around as endless banter, piercing her skull. Rubbing her temples, she began to push closer to the small tavern right outside of Diagon Alley. Humans kept popping up in the media. To any average human, bears would be a plausible explanation. Sadly, Aradia knew better. The second the Ministry got wind of human remains she was tasked with finding the real culprit.  They threatened their way of life. Something had to be done or she was going to be in big shit.
She was determined it was one of two scenarios. Someone was creating new wolves and not teaching them properly or a rouge wolf with no remorse of consequences. Either way, she knew this wasnât a repeat offender. Â Whiskey would help with forgetting her newest victimâs stark white petite body. Â With her hand on the door to the pub her onyx colored raven perched on her shoulder, dropping a note into her hand.
âThere is another body youâre needed at the office.                                                      -Jâ Fuck it.
She was going to grab that drink before being forced back into work.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. FUCK.
Draco held his head in his hands, furiously rubbing at his aching temples. He had forgotten to take his Wolfsbane Potion for the second time in the past several months. He had awoken in the middle of the bloody woods, his pale skin covered in thick blood. The scent lingered in his nostrils, metallic and cold, despite the fact that he had bathed twice now. He hated how hungry it made him feel. He wondered who he had killed. A muggle? Wizard? Witch? Child? His stomach twisted violently at the thought of the last one.
It was not as if they made it easy to make the potion, it required rare and expensive ingredients. Draco avoided getting them for himself so as not to draw any suspicion, but without the influence that came with his name, it was difficult for anyone else to acquire it for him. He wondered if the Ministry had gotten wind of it yet, wondered if he had left any sort of evidence. The memories of the incident didnât exist, but the blood said all he needed to know. Someone had suffered last night at his hands, or more accurately, jaws.
âI need a fucking drink,â he said aloud, although he was alone. Draco spent such a great deal of time alone lately. Without much thought he slipped a deep maroon sports jacket over his shoulders and made his way to the gates of the manor so he could apparate to the pub.
Upon arrival, Draco made swift calculated movements to the bar tender, demanding fire whiskey and tossing more than enough galleons to the counter for his next few purchases. After receiving his drink, tossing it back and ordering a second, he made his way to a corner table and settled in.Â
It was going to be another long night. He needed to forget.Â
He was so sick of this werewolf shit.
Aradia knew instantly who sat at the bar when she walked up. All it took was one glance at the white pale locks to identify Draco Malfoy. Sheâd watched him through out school, constantly making an ass of himself. Or when he began to make an even larger name for himself in the dark wizarding community. Thankfully, the little red head was never fond of the politics that ran the place. She was a year behind him in school and never wished to have such a darker light shed on her. She was the kind of girl who would rather get away with not being seen than to be in the spot light. Of course, when she required the spot light she made a scene of it.
âSame as him. Bring more rounds.â She stated simply as she handed the bar keep money. Nodding her head in the direction Draco went she followed shortly after. Heels clicked to announce her arrival as she stood at the table. âYou look like hell Malfoy and Iâve seen hell today. Care to help me down a bit before I have to stumble back to work?â She asked, pushing ruby locks away from her face. Aradia hoped he would say yes. She wanted to ask him a few questions but in all reality she needed human conversation other than her mother and coworkers.
Without waiting for an answer she took her drink to her lips and sat down in front of him. âYou probably donât remember me. Our fatherâs were once close before the fall.â She spoke gently but refused to go into further detail. She didnât speak of her father much after his departure from the world.
âHow many of these do you think I could down before they smell it on my breath?â She questioned, brow raising with a quirk. âI say five and a breath restoring potion. Have to make sure Iâm minty freshâŠâ Before the thought process could finish she downed her drink. âEver want to run away, Draco?â Aradia questioned her face turning serious within mere moments of the question falling from her lips.

@femmefatale-xox
Draco stared at the woman who had approached, immediately taken by the intensity of her mere presence. She absolutely commanded the room despite her petite frame and controlled speech. He tried to place where he knew her from, the memories of school faraway and muddled by the violence that accompanied the war.
âIt doesnât appear I have much of a choice in the matter,â he said huffing out a half laugh while raising his eyebrows. He held his drink in the air toward her in a mock cheers, and down some of the liquid, appreciating the way it warmed his throat. âWho is your father?â He asked after a moment. He was not sure if it was the alcohol, or if perhaps he had blocked the girl from his mind for trauma related reasons, but he just couldnât quite remember.
Draco considered her question, his gut instantly screaming yes to him. Of course he wanted to run away. His family had left him, the values his name was built upon had been completely shattered when he was turned into a fucking werewolf by Greyback, and the woman he was arranged to marry wanted nothing to do with him because every aspect of his life was shadowed by this awful secret. He spent his time alone, stuck in a Manor ridden in impossible to lift curses, trying to find a way to stop himself from killing innocent people every time the moon cycled. His stomach lurched at the thought, the smell of blood thick in his nostrils once again.
He took another drink, finishing the glass and ordering another.
âOf course not, my life here is absolutely bloody ideal,â He finally answered, words dripping with his sarcasm as he turned his shoulders to face her more directly and gestured to the scene they found themselves in. He wondered what she did, but not enough to ask just yet.
âYou have a place in mind, then?â He joked dryly, his lips twitching into a half grin.
He was right, he didnât have a choice in the matter by the time she sat down. Before she answered his question she made it a point to down another drink. Two down, she couldnât stay for too many after. âYaxley.â She stated as a matter of fact. Not many people knew who her father really was. Aradia was kept in the shadows and almost a hushed matter when her father was around. After years of wondering why she held her motherâs last name she understood by looking back on her fatherâs life. âI was never around the chaos. Much more soâŠâŠ a fly on the wall for things.â She eased into her seat a little more. Of course, she knew his brain was probably wrecked with a number of things. âDonât worry, Iâm not asking for you to remember me.âShe chuckled with a small smile. It disappeared shortly after hearing his question. The sarcasm in his tone just made her shake her head, she enjoyed the darker sense of humored people. âIâd leave for IrelandâŠ. Here itâs amazing for red heads out there.â She stated in a joking manner before her face turned serious again. âSo, I must ask.â She started, stopping only to grab another drink. Three. She would have to take her answers and go. âHave you heard of anything from, or of, Greyback after the fall?â Her green hues were genuine while questioning. Looking around to make sure no one else heard her she leaned in. âIâve just seen some things that are making me question a bitâŠâ Aradia left it open ended to only look down at the drink in her hands momentarily.Â

Mummyâs little angel isnât so sweet anymore. What will be the next escape?
