Fortunately for Rarity, Rainbow had just woken up from her long sleep in that had lasted for at least three hours. While already sitting up, Rainbow was using a hoof to rub the remaining sleep from her eyes. But, once the sound of the unicorn’s voice ran throughout her ears, they had instantly perked up and Rainbow jerked her head over towards her window. At first, her words left the pegasus a little confused until she realized what Rarity was trying to do.  ❝ Ugh.. and here we go. ❞

Rolling her eyes, she zipped out of her bed. After cleaning up a bit, including her mane, she was quick to leave her room, the living room, and then her front door where she immediately pushed it open only to walk out of it while tucking in her wings to her side after closing the door behind her with it. From where she was standing, she was able to see Rarity a little better more than from her bedroom. Clearly, she didn’t seem too amused or phased by this. Rainbow Dash already had a feeling that something was up and she wasn’t going to fall for it that easily.

❝ Alright, what is it this time? ❞

   Her cheek pressed to the cobblestone floor, Rarity lies motionless, expecting Rainbow to swoop down to her aid anytime now. Overhead, she can hear some stirring movement, involuntarily prompting her to hold her breath. But despite her skills as an actress, Rainbow Dash pokes right through her performance, as evidenced by her less-than-impressed rejoinder. Her ploy uncovered, she pushes herself off the ground, turning her gaze upwards to fix the multihued pegasus with a wounded glare. ❛ THAT'S your response to witnessing a poor, helpless lady pass out in the middle of the road ? ❜ She dusts herself off indignantly, flipping her hair with a little 'humph.' ❛ So discourteous. FINE. I shan’t beat around the bush any longer. ❜ Feeling she has no other choice, she sucks in a big breath, preparing to change strategies.

   ❛ I am under an EXTRAORDINARY amount of pressure. I'll admit, the entire ‘lady fainting in the middle of the road’ charade was a FARCE, but it might just as well have been real. I've received a custom order from Saddle Arabian royalty, you see. Now I've got to find a Glowpaz within the span of one moon, or I won't be able to complete the ensemble in any sort of a timely manner. I've already spent such a GROTESQUELY amount of time trying to convince the other girls to come, but none of them could make it ! I implore you, Rainbow Dash. Won’t you help me ? After all, who better than the fastest pony in Equestria to help me get this order finished on time ? ❜ She gives an uncomfortable sort of titter, then it all seems to hit her at once, and suddenly she's stooping down into a bow, holding out her hooves beseechingly. ❛ PLEASE, oh please ! ❜ She looks up at her, her lips pressed into a tight pout. ❛ You're my very last hope. ❜

   The response sounding from the other side of the door gives her momentary pause. Part of her feels she should respect her sister's privacy, but the other part of her, the part that feels a swell of protectiveness come over her at the pained undercurrent running through her sister's voice, wins out. She shunts the door inwards, setting down her hoof with a decisive flourish. ❛ Sweetie Belle, I am your big sister. Besides my... ❜ She gives her lustrous mane a flip. ❛ ...IMPECCABLE sense of fashion, I am also bestowed with a keen sense to know exactly when my little sister is feeling unhappy. ❜ It might not have seemed like the best time for threatrics, but for Rarity, the best time for theatrics was ALL the time. ❛ Now, you may not appreciate my intrusion, but if you are hurting, then I am hurting, too. I simply cannot leave you to wallow any longer. I haven't seen you downstairs since you came down for breakfast this morning. Are you really certain you're alright ? ❜ A look of concern easing over her, she carefully draws closer. Suddenly, she descries the piece of paper laid out across the other's bed, and promptly ceases her advance. ❛ What's this ? ❜

     AJ returned the embrace, strong and welcoming, for she didn’t know how long she’d been in this strange world with nopony to talk to or be afraid with. Rarity at least made her feel a little braver, no matter how frightening the circumstances were.

     As she backed off from their hug, a troubled look befell her after Rarity’s inquiry. She knew now that Rarity was the source of the first scream, but what of the second? Applejack lowered her voice some, gaze shifting to the fog around them, “Rarity, I reckon I been here longer than you, because I’ve been hearin’ that same screamin’ for a while now. Don’t it sound…unnatural to you?” 

     Suddenly, there was a wave of discomfort that overcame the mare, as if she were standing in an open meadow where the bordering forest hid hungry timber wolves. Standing in one place for too long here always managed to feel not right.

     “I ain’t seen it myself, but I don’t right know if I want to neither.”

   Her relief on seeing Applejack quickly wanes on hearing her speak. Eyeing her, worry etches its way across her features, her ears folding back into her now leafy-colored mane. Finding that exercise helps her think, she starts pacing, rattling off words at such a rate that they're almost rendered incoherent. ❛ If you've been here LONGER than me... and you've yet to find a way to escape... then common sense dictates—— ❜ She freezes in place, sucking in a great gulping gasp of air. ❛ We're stuck here ?! ❜ The pacing starts up again, even more manically than before, her eyes desperately sweeping the fog as if looking for a possible exit. ❛ I can't be stuck here. I can't ! How could I possibly be expected to work with only TWO marginally varying shades of—— ugh—— sickly green ? ❜ Despairingly regarding herself in the front window of the Hayburger, she fluffs up her decidedly vomit-colored mane, her voice swaying on the edge of a wail in earnest now.

   ❛ Oh no. I'll have to close the boutique. I'll be rendered bankrupt ! Before I know it, I'll end up forced to move back to my parent's farm, all-inclusive with cows and chickens and... ❜ Her breathless spiel winds down to nothing but a tiny, helpless utterance. ❛ Grime. ❜ Applejack's confession on not having seen the creature brings her reeling back to the matter at hand. Casting an uncertain look into the sheet of fog, she can't help but fleetingly wonder what it might be obscuring, a thought which sets her teeth rattling. ❛ That awful screaming... you don't suppose it's... one of the GIRLS ? ❜

     A scream pierces the thick silence of the mirrored Ponyville, alerting the earth mare into attention. Navy blue eyes scan the dense fog as pale ears swivel and search for further noises. There was a pause after the shriek, and Applejack couldn’t help but wonder why it sounded so different, and so familiar, than the one she’d been hearing in the trees that she daren’t follow.

    “Hello?” she called, warily.

     It didn’t take long after the first, did another, dangerous screech echo the first. Hearing both back-to-back, there was no doubt about it, someone else was here!

     “H-Hold on! I’mma comin’!”

     Relief and horror powered the pony who immediately shot through the fog like a bullet. Whatever else was out there, the farmer pony was bent on finding the other presence before it did. Pale hooves pound against stone, blindly navigating the dream for any semblance of a familiar living being.

     The mare finally skids to an abrupt halt nearly barreling into the unicorn, instead her navy blue hat flies right off the strange ebony mane and into the unicorn’s face.

     As the earth pony recollects herself, breathing heavily, she analyzes the pony before her…and she can’t help but be overcome with joy at meeting a familiar face. “Rarity! I shoulda known that was you screamin’!”

   Applejack's calls are lost to her, the whole of her mind trained entirely on whatever foreboding thing lurks behind the fog. She can't physically see it, but its presence is so intense it might as well be palpable. A DREADFUL feeling like a premonition of something bad comes over her. It weighs down her limbs, the way it often happens in dreams, preventing her from moving freely. Her brain feels like it's exposed to a pressure akin to being countless of feet underneath ocean level. Panic swells within her, but regardless, there's nothing she can do to tear her gaze away. Maybe it's attributable to the dreadful sense of fear that threatens to consume her entire being, or maybe its the nature of the dream itself, but even moments before it feels like something is going to spring out and grab her, she’s helpless to do anything but STARE. She's gripped by shivers, certain that her demise is imminent.

   Then, a jarring sound like hooves on stone. She starts to turn around, convinced she's about to look death in the eye. Something flies into her field of view, suffusing her vision in navy blue. Rearing onto her hind legs, she utters a rending SHRIEK, promptly breaking out of the otherwordly torpor that seemed to have taken possession of her prior. Suddenly she hears a voice, her ears flicking to attention. ❛ A-Ah-Ah-Applejack ? ❜ The cowpony's country twang is like glorious sunshine breaking through an oppressive pack of clouds, and just by being subjected to its familiarity, she can feel her faculties RETURNING. ❛ Applejack ! Oh, you’ve no idea how glad I am to see you right now ! ❜ She loops her front legs around the other. Her next comment prompts her to back away. She plucks Applejack's hat off of her face, pressing it earnestly against her heart. The beaming smile is superseded by a look of concern. ❛ It wasn't me. Well, it WAS me, initially, but there was somepony else here, too. Applejack... correct me if I'm wrong, but... might you perhaps be implying that whoever uttered that terrible second scream... wasn't YOU? ❜

   A peal of thunder starts her from sleep. Her breath coming quickly, she blinks her eyes open, darkness crowding around her like an oppressive weight. Casting a look about, her first thought is that whatever thing or creature took possession of Luna all those moons ago has somehow returned and finally succeeded in bringing about its ETERNAL night. Gaining her feet, she quickly scrambles toward her bedside window, expecting to see ponies running around in disarray and fire licking menacingly from the top of the straw roofs. Instead, she's met with sinistrous silence. The streets below are utterly BARREN, save for the thick fog overhanging the entirety of the town. Somehow, that notion sends her into an even bigger frenzy, and she wastes no time bolting downstairs. Slamming open the door, she bursts out into the street, her heart beating a tattoo against her chest.

   ❛ Maintain your poise, Rarity. It's just a silly old dream, nothing more. ❜ Catching her reflection in a window, she gives a piercing scream. Her formerly purple mane has turned into a hideous, sickly green. ❛ Or a NIGHTMARE, I should say. Whoever's behind this possesses some DREADFUL color matching skills. ❜ The matter of her mane is relegated to the back of her mind when she hears a sound eerily akin to her own scream, echoing back at her in twisted cadences. And whatever's making it is getting nearer... she can sense its unspeakable presence, obscured behind the FOG. Unable to tear her gaze away from its inexorable approach, she takes a couple of steps backward, and then freezes in place, one front hoof still suspended in the air, paralyzed.

   Hauling an empty cart behind her, Rarity steadily approaches her target, the Cloudominium growing bigger with every step she takes. Knowing Rainbow likes to sleep late, she initially didn't want to bother the cyan Pegasus; after all, if there's anyone who KNOWS about the importance of beauty sleep, it's Rarity. But today is an emergency. She's received the order of a lifetime; following a recent visit to Ponyville, a high standing member of Saddle Arabia's royalty was so taken by her garments that he'd promptly placed an order for a custom horse tack. He'd even paid in advance, a price well into the triple digits; certainly more than enough to create something befitting of royalty. But for that, she needs to procure the best, most exquisite gem known to Equestria. She needs a GLOWPAZ. It's certainly no easy task, and she needs help, but with it being on such short notice, all of her friends were occupied elsewhere. Rainbow is her last hope. She has to play her hand right, or the prince's dress will never get finished in time. Feigning exhaustion, she collapses underneath Rainbow's cloud-based residence, clearing her throat loudly enough for her to hear. ❛ Oh, it's dreadful... simply dreadful... this cart is so very heavy and my frame is so very delicate. ❜ She’s not going to beg—— that would be beneath a lady, but that doesn't mean she can't try to stimulate Rainbow into helping her. ❛ I'll never get my work done in time. If only there was SOMEPONY willing to help this poor, DAZZLING maiden in distress. ❜

It was childish and infuriating.  And sort of relieving, if Luna was honest.  A prank war blew away the budding tension between her and her sister starting with Celestia putting her in a bubble again.  Naturally she’d retaliated by turning Celestia’s crown into a balloon animal whenever she wasn’t looking at it.  And her punishment was a pink coat.  Complete with all her natural dapples that made her look like some sort of rotten fruit.  She leaps behind the unicorn as if the smaller mare could hide her.  “I’m going to kill her.”

   Sighting on Luna's decidedly PINK coat, she tries to hide the horror that threatens to tinge her eyes... and fails. Raising a hoof to her mouth, she stifles a sound that's somewhere between a gasp and a laugh. Of course, she shouldn’t laugh; after all, if it happened to her, she'd sooner want to cry. ❛ Oh... well... it’s nothing we can’t fix with a little on-the-spot ingenuity. ❜ It IS, but she's trying to be carefully optimistic.

   ❛ In fact, I think you would look positively RADIANT if we just accessorized it a little. Oh ! How about this ? ❜ Remembering she's bearing a yellow ribbon around the base of her tail, her horn flares blue as she undoes the knot and levitates it up to Luna, delicately tying it down behind her ears. Levitating her pocket mirror up to the princess, she gives an uncomfortable little titter. It's by no means her best work, but it's the best she could do in a pinch. ❛ SEE ? The quintessential picture of perfection ! You don't need much, really. After all, you've already got your natural beauty working in your favor ! ❜

   Somebody is asking HER for gift advice ? And for Valentine's Day, no less ? Right away, her mind starts running wild. In her mind's eye, an image of her Prince Charming already comes swarming up, holding a gift box out to her. When she opens it, rows upon rows of bonbons shimmer up at her; and in the middle, shimmering the brightest of them all, a big, beautiful, 100-karat diamond ring. After all, what girl could possibly resist ?

   ❛ Why, diamonds, of course ! You can never go wrong with a diamond. ❜ Snapping out of the daydream, she promptly catches herself. ❛ My apologies, did you say PINKIE PIE ? ❜ She deflates with disappointment, giving a dismissive wave of her hand. ❛ In that case, I would like to rescind my former statement. I believe a big, heart-shaped cake would serve the purpose just fine. ❜ She admits, sighing deeply at Pinkie's lack of romanticism. Oh, to be a hopeless romantic, all alone on Valentine’s Day.

A small smile tugs at her lips as she turns to perturb herself in the mirror; it's adorned with a blue striped pattern that compliments her eyes nicely and adds a quaint nautical touch—— PERFECT for a cloudless day ! ❛ Ah ! This is the one ! ❜ With renewed confidence, she finally steals out of her boutique. It's a particularly warm day for the waning summer, and she intends to take full advantage of it. After an entire morning of organizing her newly-prospected gems at the boutique, it's a nice relief to feel the breeze gently tugging at her tresses. Just as she passes the fountain in the middle of town, however, the breeze suddenly turns into a hard wind.   She can feel her hat lift off, and moves her hoof to hold it fast; but its too late, the wind has picked it up, bearing it towards a nearby stream with DIZZYING speed. ❛ Oh no ! ❜ She brings out,   her voice running up to a squeak. ❛ Please, somebody catch my hat before it falls into the water ! real talk though.... how do u join a group that clearly states it's looking for people to fill certain canon roles and then complain about said canon roles?? you go in knowing fully well canon lists make you uncomfortable and you have the nerve to invade someone else's group and demand everything be changed and tailored to your needs in the haughtiest, most self-righteous manner conceivable. all WITHOUT EVEN BOTHERING TO ASK FOR INPUT FROM OTHER GROUP MEMBERS FIRST bc your opinion is the one that everyone should just automatically cater to i guess. 💁‍♀ then you expect the owner of said group to stay perfectly neutral and accommodating like she's being paid to deal with people like you? like whAT. no karen, this isn't like the cashier ar your local supermarket you terrorize for looking at you wrong. they aren't under any obligation to stay perfectly nice to you when you're waltzing into their IMs making demands on how to run THEIR group. like leave people alone?? why even join if you know you're triggered by canon lists? idk maybe make your own group? what the fuck is wrong with tumblerinas fHSGSJJXJ IM LOSING MY MIND

@imperiialfrost and @heartcfequestria this is the only time i’m addressing this, because i feel certain people haven’t been made aware of my side of the story. you two joined my group chat knowing full well there would be a canon list involved, and not long after, you demanded i remove it. i know “character lists” can make people insecure ( and yes, lash out ) and never wanted that. but i did nothing to warrant this treatment. i know you did this to tam before, and the main reason i’m posting this is because i want this kind of unacceptable behavior to stop.

it’s not normal and it’s not okay to share a supposedly private ( ! ) conversation with me with everyone and their mother and twist it the way you want it to. then after the conversation, suddenly people who weren’t even in the group in the first place have soft blocked me. is that a proportionate reaction to a disagreement about some silly list, do you think ? a list that never even meant anything in the first place ? no, that’s toxic. involving half the verse in your childish drama when you could have kept it between us two. why ? for trying to have fun and encourage rp in a way that, coincidentally, yes, involves a character list ? because i was initially reluctant to remove a list that i had put in place on my own server ?  i told kimba twice ( ! ) to ask other people in the group how they felt about removing the canon list and told her i was open to removing it, but you still insisted on your vendetta. this is the real conversation before i was blocked by kimba and moonbeam: https://pastebin.com/3PtyHJgx

after this conversation took place, you told everyone you could about said conversation in a manipulative attempt to turn them against me. you manipulated them into soft blocking me, creating bad blood between people where there was none before. you’re purposely pitting people against each other and making mlp a tense, divided verse. it’s just such a ridiculous situation. people are dying of corona out there and you two get this mad about a list. smh. for the few who soft blocked / unfollowed me, i don’t have anything against you, and i hope we can some day dissolve this tension that these two people have created between us.

it’s all about offering your fellow writers a little benefit of the doubt and not casting stones just because someone else cast the first one. if someone tells you something negative about another person, before you judge the person in question, disconnect from a friendship, et cetera, make sure you see the proof first.

   Sweet,   blissful silence  ...  drawing her sleeping mask back over her eyes,    she reclines back into a laying position.   Her head hasn't even lighted down on the pillow yet when Rainbow Dash starts up again.   She freezes,   slowly rising back up,   deliberately,   mechanically,   eerily reminiscent of the Frankenstein monster rising from the ashes.   It's not entirely inapt,   considering the way she looks after the pun-induced sleep depviration she's been put through.   Pulling her sleeping mask up,   she fixes the other with her bloodshot eyes and a somehow implacable smile.   ❛  That's marvelous,   darling  ...  ❜   

   She sidles over to the other,   allowing her elbow to rest against the other's front leg.   ❛  Here's one for you  ...  ❜   She says saccharinely,   bringing her face close.   ❛  What happened to the pegasus after she simply wouldn't stop making all of those awful puns, even after mannerly old moi already asked her to cease the madness time and time and time again  ?  ❜   With that,   she jerks her body violently upwards,   promptly ejecting Rainbow Dash from the bed.   ❛  She slept on the couch.  ❜   She gives a little unhinged titter and settles back down,    pulling the blankets tightly about herself.

  Huddled underneath an inconspicuous raven cloak,   the shadow-like figure flits towards a castle rising high into the many-mooned sky on its stony perch.   The streets of Bright Moon seem peaceful,   if anything,   but appearances can be deceiving.   She knows that more than anyone; it was only a day ago when her friends were captured,   falling one by one to the Horde's inescapable sheer numbers.   She's by no means the fastest or the most magically adept of her friends,   but she's all that's left ——   so she presses on,   her breath rasping in her throat,   her cloak rippling wildly about her.   Suddenly something stops her; a bright flare of light rides across her vision,   rendering her temporarily blind.   Blinking copiously,   she risks a look at its source,   her long-lashed eyes coming to rest on a glittering blue cape,   billowing in the breeze and reflecting glimmering sparkles back at her.   Glimmer  ...  she takes a deep gasping breath.   Could it be  ...  princess Glimmer  ?   She had feared that Bright Moon's serenity might allude to a more sinister fate,   like the one that befell her very own Ponyville,   but perhaps the serenity and peace that seems to seep throughout every corner of this kingdom is hard-earned.   It reminds her of Ponyville,   except that Ponyville has no princess left to defend said peace.   Maybe her toilsome journey here was worth it after all;   maybe the rebellion is still alive and well  ...  and maybe,   just maybe  ...  she still stands a chance at extricating her friends from the Horde's clutches.   ❛  Excuse me  ...  ❜   Reaching out a tentative arm,   she lights her hand gently on the other's shoulder.   ❛  Might you be,   er  ...  princess Glimmer  ?  ❜
