what watching a tv show with a lesbian character on feels like
person: “i'm sure there are great queer women where you are, you just need to find them"
hitting on another woman
what i want to do:
what i actually do:
when someone says i’m beautiful
if it’s a guy:
if it’s a girl:
when you’re at the nail salon and they ask why you don’t grow your nails out
trying to find girls who like girls IRL
me, every time i watch a lesbian movie
when you want to come out but your family is like
queer problem: not being in a relationship with Ruby Rose
when people find out i’m a lesbian and try to stereotype me
“I’ve slept with women before but I’m straight”
when straight women think gay men are “cute” and lesbians are “gross”
since i've had a lot of questions asking me what i look like:
when you accidentally see a dick pick
"i wish i was a lesbian, it must be so much easier to date girls."
femme problem: "cutting your hair is a queer right of passage"
what does queer mean.
'Queer' is an umbrella term that covers non-straight and/or non-cis/trans* individuals. I'm a lesbian, but I also define as queer.
To me, ‘queer’ represents community in that it brings together those who face discrimination based on sexuality or gender dysphoria and recognises that we are all part of a struggle to liberate ourselves.
Queer can be a political term for LGBT+ people who are radical, but it can simply also be an umbrella term that covers LGBT+ people plus anyone who is not straight and/or cis and doesn’t wish to define themselves via a specific label, nor specify exactly how they are queer, just that they are.
Essentially ‘queer’ is a term for people who face discrimination and are oppressed because of their sexuality or gender dysphoria, and who require liberation.
