How to stop nightmares

Shepard sits bolt upright in bed, panting, eyes wide then slowly sinks back, fighting tears. Liara wakes and looks at her with infinite sympathy. She curls her arms around her and pets her hair.

Liara: I have you.

Shep: C-can't...*sniff!* Can't stop, too much screaming.

Liara: I know.

Shep: Hurt people...too many...all dead...

Liara: It's over. I've got you.

Shep: H-hurt everyone...Saw them all die...

Liara: They didn't. None of us did.

Shep: I-I know...*sniff!* still saw it...

Liara: I know. *slow, gentle hair strokes* I'm here.

so, playing mass effect again for the umpteenth time, i realized i consciously decided NOT to pursue liara as maleshep because it was through my first femshep run with the [KIND OF SPOILARZ FOR MASS EFFECT 3?] final me3 parting EMBRACE ETERNITY moment that it all came together and i fell in love with the character.

so i will save her full romance for femshep alone. she saw her first.

A few days after Sovereign is destroyed, the Normandy's been hunting for traces of Saren's forces, Shepard lies back on her bed in a tanktop and her underwear.

*Door chimes. Shepard stands and answers it.*

Shep: Oh! Hey, what's up?

Liara: Um...Could I...Would it be all right if I stayed here tonight?
