A Smilng Critter AU divided in two side of the same coin: The lost media of the Smiling Critters Cartoon, and the life of those experiments created by Play.co to play this critters.
Remember when i shared the list of episodes of Spring season? Well, it long time enough for me to share the Summer season list
oh well, the FIRST half of that season.
List of episodes
1-The Star Ship
Synopsis: Kickin and Bubba discover a pirate map hiding in the library, making them search for the mistery that hide behind the Legendary Star Ship
2- Rain drops
Synopsis: a sudden rain day in the middle of summer prevents the critters from playing like usual.
3-A Wild Heart
Synopsis: While helping Catnap with a wild problem, Bobby tell him how she got to become a critter.
4-A healthy Gigant
Synopsis: After finding some weird looking footprint, Piggy found a surprising visitor in her farm: a dinosaur! (Bron cameo).
5-A mistery Egg
Synopsis: A special treasure landed on the town's library for a exhibition, but it suddenly dissapeared! Would the critters be able to find it with the help of a misterious ''treasure hunter''?
And of course, there is the Ambrosia episode in this half! but this one was made by the japanese brand, animated in a sightly different way
this special was really loved by the kids and fans in general, and it was pretty hard to get some copies, even for the own play.co, the factory had a limited number of VHS of this special
i had been testing for the past months some different games and apps to find good references for the episodes, at the moment MakeRoom is pretty good, but i would need to see another options for exteriors
i have a hard day tomorrow (going to the dentists and getting some -hopefully- final check ups) but i need to adress a elephant in the room that i had see some other PPT blogs getting hit with
the Lilly's situation
now, im going to be honest, idk if im putting her in the Au or not yet cus she would need a REASON for me to been there, and so far in my analysis of the chapter, i dont have a reason
but i also need ya guys to see a reality: those that hate her have ALL the reasons to do it
please stop trying to convince other PPT artists to put her in their drawings, the hate at her is completly justificed, specially if ya had been a toys supporter all this time!

allow me explain
Sawyer from the beggining is explained that he didn't cared for others at all, he gave a big fat shit for any other living creatures, and he was just interesed in see how far his knowledgment could get in base of creating life. Im actually even sure dude would had become a toy/what he became willfully if someone asked him, cus it would had mean he could keep doing his experiments, he only hated that they did it behind his back and didn't let him have control over it/over anything. Dude moral is completly non existence and irrelevant to the experiments, since by day 1 he never faked what he actually wanted
meanwhile, Ms Gracie was willfully doing this job and hurting those that she was trying to ''comfort'', she literally say ''i was just trying to make you all feel better'' when Baba, Hoppy and Kickin were about to kill her, and she knew that was a big fat lie, cus she didn't cared for them, she literally sended Huggy to kill mini toys both as a punishment for them and to mentally torture Huggy due putting blood on his hands
Why one have more moral ground that the other? cus Sawyer wouldn't had lied about why he did the stuff he did, cus for him that shit was perfectly okay. Gracie knew what she was doing was wrong, and keep doing it
Nobody is forgiving Sawyer for what he did, and he dont want to be forgiven, dude would do it again and again, but that why he work as a villain and people love him as a villain
But Lilly.... eh, you cant forgive her for what she did, nor treat her like the other toys cus ya know they did what they did cus they had no other options, Gracie had other options, she could had work in anything but this, but she was getting a paycheck day to day and sleeping peacefully knowing all those toys had her voice as a traumatic reflex, and then asking for mercy when she never give them the same deal (she wasn't even part of the employers that helped the hour of joy, so she dont even have that on her favor). Her been put into a toy dont pay for her sins, NOR force the toys to now interact with her due it
not for nothing, unlike the other BBIs, you see her completly alone/with dead toys, nobody want to be close to her, probably not killing her themself cus the prototype dont allow it as a way to keep her punishment eternal.
So, if anyone see a creator killing Lilly/not putting her on their story, please respect them for that, cus the alternative is make the other toys in their drawings having to face a character that, if it was for them and not the prototype, they would had killed right away.
I actually have 2 questions related to SC of your AU
With the new changes of your factory AU, are you saying that you are going to change the version of your characters, but leaving the same timeline of your AU? Because that's the first time I saw Alba with that new version (which actually is impressive).
2. And for the AU cartoons, which comics are you gonna start to post? You have a tons of ideas of comics (which catch me an attention, buy as well to understand your storyline of your AU).

This question is important due us been at one day to the (supposely) final chapter of the game, so let me get it by parts
1- The characters are staying the same personality wise, some details may change in their design (example Alba whole change), and MAAAAYBE some timeline stuff also altered based in some new toys coming in (example some stuff i had to fix to put the nightmares and Doey). But im trying my best to not let canon fully destroy my lore, cus otherwise we would get the end of my story for 2030 /j
2- Not counting the specials, my plan is going lineal in the episodes comics. The Ambrosia special is been currently loaded in patreon (that i hadn't shared yet cus im still fighting with the content there aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa) but is going to come here soon too, but apart from those specials the episodes are going to follow the list of episodes i posted a while ago.
I’m curious about the CatNap incident in your AU. Because in canon, CatNap was cut from all Smiling Critters media and marketing, which probably included the cartoon. However, the reason in your AU that there was no season 2 was because Playtime Co. didn’t want to invest that much money into it, not because of the issues with CatNap. (Which would have been a big reason if it were the reason since season 2 was going to be CatNap focused) So did it not just happen in this AU or did it happen but it just had less of an impact, or was it something that happened in addition to whatever was happening at the time that might have caused them to cancel it?
I actually answered this a while ago if i remember right, i would need to search, but to resume
the accident with Catnap happened a lot after the season 1 ended, Play.Co just saw that season 1 was enough to keep milking the brand and didn't considered season 2 a necesity, they could easily sell VHS of recopilations with the japaneses specials that didn't came to US, and that exactly what they did for around a decade.
in my Au, the Catnap accident happened in the 90's and only happened in the town were the og factory was, the altered catnaps never left the state, this because the people connected to play.co were able to stop the situation quick, but no quick enough to prevent the city to been altered by it (also add this the situation at Ludwig's house with the dead child and of course, it was more hard to stop the local news from talk about it).
SO, Catnap been taked out of the brand was something that only happened locally, the critters stayed as a general popular brand, and even after the hour of joy, is still famous in other places... But that a talk for another day.

im looking inside my files to see what can be posted right now, what can be dropped in my patreon as special spoilers, and what is stuff that i need to rework based in recent changes in canon, and one of the stuff in my files is the tragedy that is this two's friendship
Remember when Charlie mentioned that he didn't liked the episode where Bubba's ''love interese'' is introduced? Well, the reason is simple: because Play.Co ''killed'' said character in the same damn episode!
The lore of the episode is more deep that just this (and that im keeping hide to torture you all lol) but yeah, Sunny as a character is present in the cartoon, but sadly made a one episode appear and, while his character was suppose to make a come back in season 2, due obvious reasons that never happened.
This make Charlie lowkey pissed at the whole episode because Bubba as a character in the series is always put as ''the smart guy'' that rarely bond with the other critters (think Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh). So the fact that in the episode were Bubba finally get someone to bond with this one end up out of the scene forever and not talked more about annoy him a lot.
(Marie also support this since she had been a Bubba fan since the start, so you can imagine how she also hated this episode's end)
For the matters ''why Charlie dont write Sunny been alive in the group's fanfics?'' Easy: because he is still lowkey salty about the canon situation and it mess with his ability to write the ship right in the fanfic. Dude let his emotions get to him when he write, so he realized that it was more easy to just not write the ship that to try and force himself into write it just like he wanted.
And about the season 2 stuff, trust me, the toys considered make it themself for a lot of reasons (been either to not been bored, to see if it could work to distract Catnap), but faced a big obstacle: the Prototype's theatre kid tendencies

im aware of all the stuff that had been posted about the new chapter, even if im in the void i still can check some stuff, and im going to be clear in one thing
I dont care about the end, im not changing my interpretation of Poppy and the prototype parallels
i may add Lilly, i may add some details of the ARG, and i actually like the concept of the workers been on it for the hour of joy, BUUUUUT i refuse to consider any final that dont end up with this two been showcasted as the 2 face of the same coin.
is perfectly okay if ya dont think like me! and i dont mind what Mob do with the end cus at the end of the day is their game and their cooked in a lot of stuff
but for the lore i had been working for the past 3-almost-4 years, i had always mentalized Poppy and the prototype as the gray areas of their own side, they aren't fully good or fully bad, but their morals and perspective contradict each other and create that point were there is no ''good'' or ''bad'' guy, just a situation where everybody got hurt.
that nova for now, just a little question: i had planned a special Nightmare critters YCH for valentine, but as ya guys can see the day passed due me having some stuff irl stopping me.

I know this was posted a while ago but I just remembered and this is what I think each image is trying to convey. This first image is the most speculative and could easily be wrong, but I think it represents Alba bumping into Nell after the Hour of Joy, with Alba hiding before beckoning Nell towards her. The second one might represent how Nell deals with his problems, mainly his emotions. DogDay has a problem, and just lays there before throwing his charm, which reduces the temperature but only by a little. Nell is really bad at dealing with his problems and just throws stuff at it lazily or avoids it all together, the fermented lemonade being the main example of him dealing with his problems unhealthily. The third one obviously depicts Nell and Theo and the complicated conflict the two have with each other, but an interesting detail is that DogDay is the one that strikes first, not CatNap. This could mean that before becoming bigger bodies, Nell might have done something that hurt or upset Theo, which could have been the final straw and what caused him to go along with the Prototype’s plan. The fourth and final one is the most obvious, as it represents Nell and Callem both having a crush on each other but refusing to admit it, leading to clumsy and awkward moments. It could also represent Nell’s guilt over the time Callem died and Alba had to bring him back with a grab pack, with the image showing Kickin getting hurt and DogDay feeling guilty about it.
