Excuse me, just a question for you. Since femslash February was soaringrachel's idea originally, and since she said there are no rules and rule 63, while not what she had in mind, is ok, then why are you saying it's not / why are you making rules about something that wasn't your project originally? Thanks.
I’ve stated this multiple times, I have no actual control over what other people do. And while soaringrachel, all due respect to her, may have come up with the idea and be okay with it, she doesn’t actually own Femslash February, and many of us are not okay with the abuse of a month meant to celebrate women to further erase them, thus: this blog. And I can make whatever rules I want for this blog because I am actually in control of it.
Rachel herself has said several times that she’s not happy about rule 63 fics in the femslash february tag; and while yes, it’s not a single person’s project, it’s majorly not okay to put words into anybody’s mouth. She mainly said she’d not police the tag, and that she wasn’t the be-all and end-all of femslash february, not that she was ‘okay’ with rule 63.
(I’m sorry if I’m talking over rachel’s head myself now, but I think she’s had quite enough of that topic last year)
I apologize for misspeaking. It’s been a full year since I read any of soaringrachel’s posts on the matter and it all had escaped my mind, so I took eisenbergandelephants’s words at statement value.
The entire point of this blog, when I started it, was to give people an alternative to the tag and the “policing the tag” conversations that were happening at the time. So when I say that rule 63 will not be tolerated, I’m referring to the bulk of the Femslash February community and those of us who run this blog.

Taken from her post about rule 63:
what about rule 63’ing an m/m or m/f pairing? i’d say this depends on the context. i can certainly see situations where a new and interesting queer lady story could be told about two characters not originally ladies—in that case, go for it. but if you aren’t telling a queer lady story as much as “i just wanna stick to my otp but within fem feb”, maybe don’t tag it fem feb. (this is also a good policy for stories about queer ladies in m/f relationships—or no relationship at all.
I’d like to clarify I wasn’t speaking for Rachel at all or putting words in her mouth, I was going off of the post she made earlier today.
I respect the point of your blog and creating a safe space for queer women HOWEVER I think using femslashfebruary as the url for your blog when, again, it was not originally your project is pretty fucked up.
Thank you for your time
Nor is Femslash February actually Rachel's project, only her idea. No more than any kink meme belongs to the original poster, or the big bang project belongs to the first person who made it, so no other fandom should launch their own independent big bangs.
It's a community project. A group project. And this is my interpretation.
