tablet update: my tablet is still broken

i sent it in for repairs, wacom said that they fixed it and would send it back to me, and then they sent me back my tablet unfixed but gift-wrapped as though it were a brand new tablet

this time they're apparently going to send me an actual new tablet but i've been out one tablet for a month. this is a bad Feel

my cintiq companion 512 that ive only had for a month and a half is completely dead!

i was working on an illustrtion when the screen pixellated then went black, at first if i pushed the power button it would show the wacom charging screen, but now its completely unresponsive.

if i leave it plugged into AC power its power light will occasionally go red, but no matter what i can’t get the power button to respond or any stuff to otherwise…stop, start, make a noise, whatever.

i’m really disappointed because the deadline for the fanzine i was working on is the 14th of november, and i’m sure that if i sent it into wacom 1) i wouldn’t get it back by then 2) all of the files i had stored on it would be wiped

i also can’t find anything out about this problem online aside from a single video of someone going through a similar(?) thing w theirs and…it says they fixed it but i cant for the life of me figure out how 

ive let the battery die entirely then plugged it in to try and  get it to start up, ive taken it apart to see if anything went awry with connections in the machine itself, and ive pressed the power button so many times i think ive made an imprint of it on my thumb by now

also: ive done what the vid says will put it in recovery mode it just didnt seem to work…at all. it definitely died. it just won’t start up again whatsoever now, r.i.p

does anyone…by any chance…know wtf could be wrong with this tablet, because it’s driving me up the wall

sooo this is still going on! i gave up and sent it back to wacom for repairs, but im still sorely disappointed because, y'know, i had it for a month and it broke while i was doing an important project that was due in 6 days. i'll update this post with what specifically they tell me is/was wrong with it because i'm genuinely curious as to what happened. did i let it overheat? (not likely, i used a USB fan). did something go wrong with the battery, the hard drive or the motherboard?  

my biggest regret was keeping my files on it (this model functions as a win8 computer) and not backing them up to some kind of cloud storage but you live and you learn, i guess

this is my sketch/art tumblr so occasionally ill like things from here but for the most part i won't > im staying at pikmin for the majority of reblogs/other miscellaneous things haha

i usually have an 'art/diary' tumblr, a 'sketchdump' tumblr and a 'polished art im proud of/wanting to show off sort of' tumblr and i need to feel this out but this will be one of the above
