 An  impundulu, or lightning bird. 

 These immortal vampiric creatures from South Africa can call lightning and storms, among other  magical powers and feed on blood. They can take the form of a beautiful young man to seduce women as their prey. They usually serve as familiars to witches.

 No one knows how ancient he is, but he came to be on the council after he laid waste to the people who had taken his mistress and killed her in Europe. Without a family to protect he represents his people among the vampire council.

Necromancy Class Meta

re: classes honestly karkats probably not teaching any real necromancy Magics until youve made it through like. Minimum a full year of necromancy classes.

first section is basically morals of necromancy and the general theories behind the practice ie you need to learn about the balances of power/the ebb and flow of life/that necromancy really isnt just about bringing back the dead/that intense anatomical knowledge of the things you interact with is a requirement ect (some of these things are so vital theyll also be covered in further detail in the next semesters as well)

second is going to be the philosophies involved in necromancy as well as various theories and origins about how and why it came around and was developed

third is probably going to be different forms and branches and beliefs about various varieties of death magic from different species and cultures (this one probably involves simple demonstrations but no in depth explanation of how to do things)

fourth is probably going to be how intimate anatomical knowledge is a must plus how undead things work and how they fall on the scale of life and death plus how certain species have affinities for certain magics and death magic is no different (lol) and starts to go into the relationship of the effect of life/death of physical bodies (both humanoid and otherwise) and the functions death magic can have on them(edited) all of these classes will also hammer in that killing With necromancy is taboo and so is human necromancy and (the only reason things like small animals dont fall under that scale is that theyre less aware of the things enacted on them you can bring back a fucking hamster and there isnt going to be any existential crises about their existence) if your only motivations for taking this class are learning human necromancy then you probably shouldnt be here in the first place bc that is by and large the most dangerous and likely to blow up in your face form of necromancy (things like spirits dont really count but. Those technically also fall under branches like divination and summoning anyway so.) if and only If you can make it through the full year of theory classes and pass all of it (especially the moral bullshit) will karkat even Consider starting to teach anyone actual Magic and even when he starts teaching actual magic he starts from the very basics like. plant > insect > small birds > small mammal > medium sized mammal > larger mammal > reptilian shit (also connected offshoots like shadow magic will be interspersed in here hes not going to touch on human necromancy to any degree for actual literal years human necromancy is probably not even a thing he teaches to just. general normal college classes the only way hed really teach That is going to be if they finish all the classes and advanced classes and then come to him personally and ask to be taught bc not only can he keep a personal eye on you but he can judge whether or not he even Should tangentially related but i would like u to please imagine semesters (esp three) involving guest speakers such as 1.  90 year old ladies from new orleans who grew up practicing forms of traditional voodoo/hoodoo 2. at least one older vampire or similar who is well versed in necromancy and fulfills the undead requirements 3. him getting fucking Mirid because who better to talk about Fae death magic than an exceptionally powerful dullahan.

She belongs to the NYU anime club, and recently became employed by Wicked, because she was kind to him, and he wanted an in house tailor.

She has five younger brothers, who tend to be extremely rowdy.

She got into fashion repairing her clothes from adolescent transformations, and designing pieces that looked good while allowing for the transformation and partially transformed states without being shredded.
