i just think if youre usamerican and within an online fan community for something thats also predominantly liked by usamericans You should be nicer and more open minded to fans that arent from the us and maybe dont treat them like some sort of strange fucking creatures. you might get more fans to talk to and befriend if you dont act like the us is the default for everyone in existence. this applies to everything ever when it comes to interacting with others online but im talking about fandom bullshit currently so keep that in mind

WIP Excerpt: Unspiralled

Warning for major character death

Rain fell in heavy sheets. The battlefield, silent, empty, turned to mud beneath the victors’ feet. In the shelter of the crouching giant, protected somewhat from the storm, a man held his brother in his arms for the last time. Around him stood a stunned silence, all eyes fixed on the blood soaking the child’s jacket.

A hand reached up to press into Kamina’s cheek, thumb shaky as it wiped tears from his eye. Simon, precious, brilliant Simon, smiled weakly as tears filled his own eyes. His other hand, clenched around a faint green glow, nudged insistently at Kamina’s wrist until Kamina took his fist in his own.

The green glow faded as Simon withdrew his arm, leaving the dull and lifeless core drill in Kamina’s upturned palm. His next breath was strained and harsh, but his smile did not fade.

“Don’t cry, bro.”

Another labored breath, and then stillness.

Kamina gripped him tighter, and screamed to the heavens.

Yoko watched the distant figure of Kamina crouched over the pile of rubble. He hadn’t objected when she followed him down from Dai Gurren, her hand gently stroking through Simon’s soft hair as they waited in the elevator. When they reached the spot, the massive footprints of Gurren still pressed into the dry mud, Kamina had insisted on continuing alone. The pain in his eyes begged her not to argue. 

She stood by as Kamina took the shovel from her and began to dig alone, never stopping as the sun climbed to its zenith. When the hole was deep enough, he gathered Simon in his arms and whispered something Yoko couldn't hear. Then he jumped down into the pit and emerged a moment later alone. Yoko squeezed her eyes shut to fight back the tears. Kamina set to work refilling in the hole.

The sun had sunk nearly to the horizon when at last Kamina was finished. He smoothed the dirt with the flat of the shovel before dropping it to the side. He pressed the tip of Simon’s hand drill into the undisturbed ground at the head of the grave, and hooked Simon’s goggles around the worn handle. 

It was done.

When Kamina at last returned to Yoko and they headed back to Dai Gurren, if Yoko saw the shininess of Kamina’s eyes, or the salty trails down his cheeks, she didn't say anything.
