why was he so complacent in Eruyt? We saw firsthand how aggressive Balthier can be on behalf of Fran’s honor but in Eruyt that man did not say SHIIIT to anyone re: getting Mjrn’s location. It was Vaan (yalls favorite “most useless character” …) who, once again, moved the plot forward with his big mouth (“sooo useless”). It’s just weird to me that Bal didn’t say like, anything. Isn’t negotiation a la silver tongue his forte? He’s not exactly one who’s afraid of Vieras.

Maybe I should just chalk it up to the writers wanting Vaan to have a moment, but out of all the characters in the main party who should have stepped up, or at least said SOMETHING, Balthier for once didn’t open HIS big mouth. I’m just always lowkey confused by that.

I know we won’t get a new Vaan figure because the western fandom has the media literacy of also a dumpster fire and they’d get so much backlash from the fandom made up of idiots but a boy can dream … I swear tf if you morons ruin getting anything Vaan related for the 20th anniversary because you can’t understand character development and story beats i will make your lives hell
