The Story of Vala turned 1 today!
This is actually a sad anniversary because I started this blog after Vala died. While the statue of limitations is probably expired for talking about, we are still sad and highly affected about it at our house.
Jessica Jones is a remarkable show for many reasons. There is its heroine, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), who is a complex and messy female character. There is her unshakeable friendship with her best friend Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor), that serves as the emotional bedrock of Jessica's life. And there is its unflinching and nuanced approach to abuse and survival.

What I did over the 4th of July weekend
“ My daughter is a big anime fan and asked to attend Anime Expo last year, but it didn’t work out then. This year, we flew down on Thursday, Day 1 of AX, driving straight there from the airport. We expected to spend at least an hour in line for the pre-registration badge pick-up, but we walked right through. We both had cosplays planned that we had to put on after we arrived. She had her now infamous Painwheel/Carol from Lab Zero’sSkullgirls. She cosplayed that character both Thursday and Sunday, getting a special tweet about it on Sunday. “

A little break...
I'm spending too much time on social media lately, so it's time for a break. I'm turning off twitter, facebook, tumblr, and nextdoor, except for a visit here and there. And I'm finishing my valaears tumblr project (but not looking at my dashboard). Instagram is mainly pics of my dogs and I don't lose time there, so Instagram is not on the moratorium.
