i don’t “make characters”, i break myself into pieces and then give the pieces names
cut my life into pieces this is my new OC
{as i drift}
oof so how do you get like motivated to actually post if your stuff looks like absolute shit??? also i like dont like any of my art maybe any tips on that?? am i overwhelming?????
ahhhh ok sorry this took a while to answer,, -3-;
usually if i think something i drew is just Bad and Ugly i just,, don’t post it, unless i’m happy with the colors or the shading or something specific, although that’s something that rarely happens anymore,,, either that or i tear it out and throw it away :P which is something i don’t really recommend since it can really fuck you up for a while and art supplies are sometimes very expensiveee
as for not liking any of your art, well,, as someone who only now is liking my own art, the only thing i recommend is to just keep pushing yourself to draw, keep practicing and improving until you reach something you’re comfortable with, and keep going from there. also! observe/study art you DO like and make a list of what is it that you like, and if maybe you could incorporate certain elements into your own work. watching videos on youtube really helped me improve as well, but don’t do it too much or you might get frustrated with yourself for not being as good as whoever your watching,, i know that one from experience TT experimentation is also a good way to learn in what direction you want your art to go

Support the artist and check out their commissions!
Oh nice! That’s much easier and faster than just toggling the alpha mode of the layer and manually changing the colour haha..
1) sorry if it’s barely visible TT 2) sorry the example is bAD 3) i’m still struggling with anatomy soooo yeah
FREE ART PROGRAMS
So recently I came across a fellow artist who was struggling to find a free art program, and considering dropping the large amount of money for a Photoshop license. I know not everyone can afford such an expensive program, so I’ve compiled a list of programs with no cost to download and use.
Keep in mind all computers are different, so not all will work for everyone. Also, I’ve only ever used Windows, so for the most part, I’m not sure if everything will work for Mac. if in doubt check the website linked.
Photoshop CS2 - (Windows, not sure about Mac.)
FireAlpaca - (Windows and Mac)
Sketchbook Copic Edition - (Windows and Mac)
GIMP - (Windows) (Mac)
Paint tool SAI [cracked] - (Windows) (Mac)
Paint tool SAI 2 beta - (tumblr post on said program)
iPaint - (Mac)
Paintbrush - (Mac)
Pencil - (Windows, Mac)
Paint.NET - (Windows)
Seashore [still in development, ver 0.5] - (Mac)
ChocoFlop - (Mac)
Inkscape - (Mac and Windows)
ArtRage [Demo] - (Mac and Windows)
OpenCanvas 1.1[must pay for 2.0] - (Windows, not sure about Mac.)
MyPaint - (Windows)
Krita - (Windows)
Vectorian [Supports Animation] - (Windows)
Pixia[Japanese, some English versions] - (Windows)
Asperite - (Windows)
Chasys Draw IES - (Windows)
SmoothDraw - (Windows)
TwistedBrush Open Studio - (Windows)
BOUNS - CTRL+Paint [Great for teaching all kinds of stuff, like how to use digital programs.]
If you know more free programs, please add onto this!
OpenToonz has made many improvements since it’s initial release! (Windows & Mac)
Medibang Paint is a comic drawing software forked from FireAlpaca mentioned earlier in this post, and is available for mobile devices as well! (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android)
Reblog for every artist ever
frank advice: in order to market your art, you have to stop openly talking shit about it you dont have to love your own art, you dont even have to like it! but when you say bad things about it all the time, about how its crap or you hate it or “this, this, and this is wrong with it,” youre tainting your audience’s view of your work
im still insecure about my art! every artist is, to some degree. to combat it, i used to immediately point out all the flaws i noticed in a piece so that no one else could do it. i thought it would keep people from bullying me if i preemptively bullied myself. and it didnt work. it did the exact opposite! talking shit about myself only encouraged other people to follow suit, and only did it stop when i stopped broadcasting my insecurities like that
once again, no one is 100 percent happy with their art, and everyone suffers from insecurity in their work, but in order to market your art online, you have to treat it like a business. if your business is putting out a product that even you say sucks, people will take your word for it.
usagi evolution!! i still can’t paint blonde hair!! fuck!!
{i’ve seen strange things in the woods}
{is something wrong?}

It’s weird that you can see a cat spinning around a robot vacuum and think, “Yeah, this seems like something a cat would do.”
i would die for you yoshi
You Will.
