Hi! Are you lovely ladies still doing this podcast? Loved listening to all your takes on everything and you three have great chemistry! I was just wondering and hope youre all doing okay ❤😊
hello~ thank you for listening and enjoying the podcast! we're currently on hiatus and busy working on other things. hope you have a great day!
Hi! I’m listening to the podcast right now, I’m on the second part and you guys are talking about a Jimin saint candle I think. Do you have a picture of it? I would be very thankful if you guys posted it because it sounds really funny 🤣
was posted here, babe 🤣 thanks for listening!! 💜
If you had to rank the BTS dogs from least cute to cutest, who'd be the top dog?
this is shanna and my vote for top dog is *drumroll pls*
I have relistened to the most recent episode of the podcast several times. I love each discussion of what has to go, but I especially love your discussion of the different tropes. It’s the coolest thing to hear fanfiction discussed with the passion you all did, and I loved how you analyzed the pros and cons of enemies to lovers and fuckboi fics. I remember reading fanfic as a much younger person where harmful character behavior (possessiveness, dubious consent) were treated as healthy. It really struck home when you said, “Sometimes people write characters being cruel, and you can tell they think it’s okay.”
Fanfic can also be a really great place to explore complicated feelings or desires in a safe environment. An author might write about something unsafe — a really great example is unprotected sex with strangers — but I can recognize it’s only for the fic and not something they think people should do.
For you all, what is the line between exploring something that is only for a fic and suggesting that unhealthy behavior is healthy?
i'm so glad you enjoyed our conversation, babe! even if we were a little liquored up, our points still stand haha. for me personally, i think that the line is very obvious--when toxic things are happening, is there anyone in the fic (whether that's oc or one of her friends or maybe even a random character who happened to see or hear something fucked up) who is voicing that the situation is not okay? or are all of the other characters enabling it, explaining things away by "oh he just likes you" or something stupid like that?
you are absolutely right that fiction is a great place to explore complicated and or dark relationships/feelings/topics, and i'm a firm believer that writers should be allowed to explore that (i personally enjoy writing dark fics as well). but at the end of the day, there needs to be some sort of indication in the body of work itself that the author is fully aware that what is happening is not okay. tumblr and fanfiction in general are often teeming with underage and impressionable people, or people whose brains have not fully developed. people who cannot properly analyze and pick apart media, and instead internalize it. this creates an environment where impressionable and misguided people guide and encourage other impressionable, misguided people and allows abuse and toxicity to become normalized. this is extremely harmful, because once again, some people can't compartmentalize media without internalizing it, and then these toxic tropes end up spilling into their real lives and making them think that type of behavior is okay and normal.
i'm rambling a bit here and maybe going a bit off topic, but this is also why it's so important for ratings and warnings to be taken seriously, because adult ratings are given because the media is meant to be consumed by adults, who are, for the most part, able to understand that fiction is fiction, and that sometimes fucked up storylines happen for entertainment purposes only. when people who cannot separate life from fiction consume such content, that only serves to inspire them to create and share and boost and reblog toxic content that is not self-aware, like it should be.
If one had to go from Min Holly, Kim Yeontan, Jung Mickey, and Kim Moni, which pup would go?
you. you can go. HOW DARE YOU ASK ME TO CHOOSE BETWEEN MY CHILDREN
Listening to the first part of “One Gotta Go” and absolutely dying rn! 🤣☠️ I love how you guys can be so insightful and teach me so much about this fandom in one ep and then have me laughing so hard I’m literally gasping in the next ep. 💜
ahhh, we're so happy you're enjoying the podcast! that episode was definitely a hot mess, but we had a lot of fun and there's more where that came from 🤣 thank you so much for listening!
You guys are absolutely hilarious!! That last podcast ("One Gotta Go") made me laugh SO hard, definitely looking forward to the next episodes (and really, any content you guys put out!) Thank you for this podcast, its truly a treasure ❤
Thank you so much! Really happy you are enjoying and that you found the episode funny 😊 hoping to have the next episode out in the next week or two!! You’re the best 😘
I laughed so hard when one of you said Jungkook had to keep his thighs because otherwise he’d look like he took steroids. 😂 😂 😂 I have a question that’s a bit like the trolly dilemma. If you could keep Hobi’s smile and JK’s thighs and Tae’s voice and Jimin’s butt but the cost was Namjoon’s pecs, would that be a worthwhile trade?
i think it was me who said that 🤣 and as much as i love joon's titties, i think i would answer this question the same way i would the trolly question--the needs of many over the needs of the few 😭 that's okay, joonie still has his biceps and his thighs and his height and his face. he'll be aight 😂😂😂
Hi!!! I cannot even explain how much I enjoy listening to this podcast. Just amazing, especially all the topics you discuss and expressing your love for Bts! I was wondering if you’d ever discuss the divide in the fandom regarding thoughts on fan fics being a great idea vs fans who think they are weird etc. I personally love reading fan fiction (especially all of yours, seeing as you are all talented and have amazing fics) but I’ve come across some fandom chats discussing how fan fiction is gross, weird etc, and maybe even your own experiences with fan fic anti’s. I’d love to here from a writers perspective who are also army’s. 🥰
Can’t wait to see what else you all have planned for future podcast episodes, whether it be important discussions or just gushing over namjoons tiddies (which I personally think is an important topic) I’m constantly enjoying the pod! Keep up the good work, and wishing you all happiness and health ☺️
Love, a fellow army 🧚♀️💜
Hi there! Thank you so much for listening, we are happy to hear it. Also, we really appreciate the awesome compliment about our writing 🥰 Not sure if we could do a whole episode around this topic seeing as the three of us are in general agreement about fan fiction and don't really pay much mind to people who insult those who write it (hello Chloé Zhao aka recipient of the Best Director award at the Oscar's this year has admitted to STILL writing fanfic.) However we may do a sort of catch-all episode since there have been a few asks where people have expressed interest in a few different topics. Thanks again for listening and for reading. Sending much love to you!

Thank you so much for speaking about racism in the fandom. I’m Samoan, and I often feel like huge portions of ARMY only care about racism in certain circumstances, and it felt really validating to hear others speak on that. The silence in many corners of the fandom in the wake of violence against the AAPI community has been really frustrating. It has also been frustrating to see ARMY claim that BTS paved the way and refuse to acknowledge how much K-Pop borrows from Black American culture. I feel like I’ve found a place in this fandom where I am heard and seen.
while fandom is always fun and conversely always holds a level of toxicity, the amount of blatant racism and false allyship that occurs in a fandom centered around men of color is unacceptable, and @bendthekneetobangtan and i were fed up with how this ugly (and disturbingly common) behavior has been allowed to thrive. how important issues like these have been swept under the rug, and how poc fans constantly get steamrolled whenever they try to point out these injustices. we just had to use the podcast to let out our building frustration. had to hope that people would at least take the time to listen, to at least attempt to recognize their harmful behaviors and hopefully work to do better.
while we can of course only speak from our own experiences, it is certainly validating to see how many other poc feel similarly, and hopefully the strength of our numbers can finally start to make a difference. thank you so much for listening and reaching out. please know that we stand with you 💜
episode 5: #stopasianhate
In the final episode of the racism series, MJ (@bendthekneetobangtan) delves into the disturbing silence of the BTS fandom when it comes to ongoing Asian hate crimes, as well as the grossly normalized fetishization of people of Asian descent.

Hey! I just wanted to let you guys know that I love your podcast! I've always wanted to listen to one that talks about the 'deeper side' of Tumblr and fiction. I love educating myself on how to be a better reader and you've all really helped! From where I live, no one really talks about racism so now I know what to watch out for (because, man, I didn't realise how subtle some people could be). I can't wait for the episode when you play those games, I think I ask some pretty good questions 😜 Thanks again for all your hard work! Stay safe xx
thank you so much, babe 🥺💜 we have a lot of fun making the podcast and also felt that there were a lot of reoccurring fandom mishaps that are often glossed over or ignored. the fact that we're all in a fandom that is centered around poc and yet so many turn a blind eye to (and actively or passively participate in) so many racist acts and microaggressions is just wild to me!!!!! but ignoring the problem is the same as cosigning it, and all that does is show others who may be ignorant of the issues that the behavior is okay to partake in. it normalizes and, essentially, encourages it. but if we talk about it, hopefully we can make that behavior less mainstream.
thanks again! and just a warning--our games episodes are guaranteed a hot mess LOL. stay safe yourself!
Heyyy I finally got the time to listen to the podcast (the first two episodes for now) and I love it!! I don’t know there is just something nice about getting to know more about people whose works you read so yeaa it’s fun and very informative and makes me think so yea thank you 😂💖💖
ahhh, so glad to hear! happy you enjoyed the first two episodes and hope you enjoy the others as well. thanks for listening! 💜
Just discovered your podcast and it's amazing! I'd love to hear what you have to say about ageism in the fandom. I'm 42 and a proud army! I haven't experienced a lot of ageism, but that's mostly because I'm very much a lurker. Being so much older makes me hesitant to get really involved because I've seen how young fans treat older fans who do attempt to engage. And there are other things, too, like how I'd love to write fic (which I haven't done in many, many years) but is it weird for a woman in her 40s to read and write fic about a bunch of 20-something guys? Is it wrong to be so much older and find them so attractive? I think a lot of older army are on the fringes of the fandom because of their age. I'd be interested to hear your take on the issue someday.
Hi, there! Thank you so much for listening to our podcast! We're really glad to hear you've been enjoying. Regarding your ask about an ageism episode: honestly, we don't have much more to say on the topic outside of what we already said during episode 1... or was it episode 2? I forget where we split things lol, but regardless: probably not enough material to discuss for 40 more minutes.
If you're asking my personal opinion, I think you should do whatever tf you want, so long as you don't harm yourself or others. Writers in their 20's, 30's and beyond make up the backbone of fanfic in most fandoms. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do!
