I have been thinking about music Hermione would have been listening to on repeat after the ballroom chapter, and I’ve made a little list!

Side A is the gut punch stuff that you listen to on repeat in the dark alone to get you through the aftershock of sudden loss. These are the songs that really know the ache.

Side B is maybe more for that second stage of grief as you slip into denial and disbelief. Where you think it could all be a dream and maybe you’ll wake up and things will be back to how they were.

These are my sad songs for Herms. They don’t line up canonically with the story timeline, but back street boys really weren’t that in touch with their grief emotions, so here we are.

Hermione Granger and the Petulant Poltergeist: CHAPTER 13 H.O.P.E - PART TWO ___

Weeeee. I'm so excited by the introduction of COLOUR! did you see this coming? I'm curious to know if it was a surprise or if you knew from early on?

Usually I type up a little story description on Ao3- but I am unfortunately a bit under the weather and don't have the energy or perspicacity for it- but I really wanted to get this chapter out this weekend, *as promised* lol. So if you check back in on the story on Ao3 in a few days, I should have the written component up <3 ---- There will be a slightly longer gap between now and the next chapter.

I'm entering an new original comic work in the Webtoon 2025 Comic legends competition- my first chapter is actually already up and i'd love if you took a peep! I have two more chapters to finish by mid may- and it's going to take up *all* of my spare time, and then some, so i'll start my next HG&thePP chap in late May. I'm sort of throwing everything I have at this competition and am fuelled by passion, insanity and the type of hyper-fixation that is usually a curse. Here it is. Chance Encounter. (It is another ghost story of course. what else am i going to do?)

I keep rereading and felt some strange urge to try and draw a panel of your work - I haven’t finished a piece for myself in over 3 years but your story made me feel like drawing! So here it is almost done WIP of this panel. @fics-by-noworriesifnot hopefully I can finish it for you one day.

Link to ao3 to read supporting text Okay, so before you have me excommunicated it’s really important to remember we’re at chapter 12 of 19, there is still much of the story to go. Dr James Harvey isn't gonna bollocks things up this time. ***

We lost the beautiful David Lynch while I’ve been working on this chapter- and truthfully news of his loss hit me a lot harder than I thought. I loved his stories and the way he saw the world. If you're a fan, you've probably noticed the Twin Peaks themes in my fic- a lot of the music I feature in the chapter titles on instagram is from Twin Peaks. And many of the chapter titles themselves are quotes from the show. This chapter is based on the song ‘No Stars’ by Rebekah Del Rio who appeared in a Roadhouse performance in season 3 ("a perfect season of television” - to quote my partner.)

This chapter to me, is about grief and loss and the ache of losing the people we love the most with our whole hearts and how terribly lonely that feeling is.

Fr though, happy Valentine’s Day 🤍 I’m so happy we get to be in this moment together, after starting work on this chapter 7 months ago it’s taken up a lot of space in my heart and it’s been very cathartic reading your feels and reactions, I have experienced all the same emotions drawing this so it really is quite something to read them back at me. I am so grateful, I don’t really know how to comprehend it? Usually my projects are sent off and disappear into the ether of the internet, so this has certainly been an experience.

A little PSA as we move into the end of this chapter. A reminder that this is not the last chapter and we have like 8 chapters to go, I’m very excited for what’s to come. I have a lot planned for our two… but to confirm some suspicions we should emotionally prepare ourselves for things to come 🤍
