Dora Maar (born Henriette Theodora Markovitch, 22 November 1907 – 16 July 1997) was introduced to Pablo Picasso by Paul Eluard in 1935. While she was an accomplished photographer and painter in her own right, she is best known as the subject of numerous Picasso paintings, until their relationship ended in 1944.
