It’s okay to cry.

When you feel like the world is crashing and crumbling over you, and your body shakes and quakes like the earth’s tectonic plates, and your eyes weep like torrential downpours just know: it’s okay to cry.

It’s okay to rage.

When you feel the fire of the earth’s core burning inside you, and your heart is racing faster than a hurricane’s winds, and you can’t seem to catch your breath because the world won’t let you catch a break, and your fists are clenched so tight that it seems your skin might rip over your knuckles like tissue paper pulled taught over rocks, just know: it’s okay to rage.

It’s okay to hunger.

When your stomach is growling like a starved wolf, or your heart is aching like it hasn’t known love in millennia, or your skin twitches at the tiniest most innocent sensation of touch, begging to be caressed and held and loved— when your whole body is begging for nourishment, or for affection, just know: it’s okay to hunger.

It’s okay to laugh.

When yeou suddenly feel it bubbling deep inside you, like a shaken soda ready to burst, or when the sky is just extra blue and the air feels crisp and fresh, reminding you of the sound and feeling of a newly opened can of soda, or when you’re surrounded by the only people who could ever make you feel so wonderful, or when the tiniest, smallest, most miniscule wonderful things happens, please, just know: it’s okay to laugh.

These moments that might seem like the weakest instances of human craving, emotion, and hubris are actually some of the most divine instances of surpassing the capacities of existence within your body. All these bodies are made to be divine. Rejoice in them. Be greatful for your ability to freely feel.
