aaaghhh my heart!! IT HURTS FOR MAEVELANDER 😭😭😭 the ruined potential of it all ohhhgoddd maeve showing HL around her hometown and asking about his own and how he does tell her it's all a lie?? Them discussing their sexual experience and HL trying to brag about his firsts being with an older woman and maeve is like... no... that's grooming... and just idk, trying to help him see just what vought and madelyn have been doing to him AND SHE MANAGES TO MAKE HIM LEAVE (she doesn't but i can dream)

THATS THE SADDEST PART ISNT IT... hes never going to leave. idk what would ahve to happen to make him leave and i dont know if maeve be able to really help him. its just so over for him and its always been over for him :(((( ... but at least she'd make it more bearable!!!

OHMYGOD RIVALS MAEVELANDER 😭😭😭 fuckkk i love that so fkn much!!! Maeve who also convinces HL to let her peg him coz he's just so smitten with her...

no baggage maevelander would go so hard ... especially with HL still being on madelyn's tight leash but he just cant stay away from maeve bc maeve is soooo different, maeve lets him touch her, maeve is not afraid of him accidentally hurting her, maeve lets him do what he actually feels like doing etc etc... and yes hed let her peg him for sure, he'd let her walk all over him except maeve is like. a Normal person so it would never get uncomfortable. if anything i think she would start getting concerned about some of the comments he makes about vought and madelyn , starts urging him to reconsider his contract with vought but he just looks at her with them big ol eyes bc there is no contract, hes just. a product but he cant tell her... he cant...

but at least they can have a nice secret relationship that tabloids keep speculating about and vought hates it but ... its also hot goss so they cant squash it. tho madelyn does try to tighten the leash on HL and it starts stressing him OUTTTT !!!!

unfortunately for maeve, i can see her main type being bratty blondes with alleged eating disorders

god .. yeah...

FUCK just imagine if they met in any other way... imagine if maeve wasnt with vought but she was with some other superhero team (i get the feeling that the boys TV universe got utterly dominated with JUST vought , when in reality there should be multiple superhero-managing companies)...

imagine her being a captain of her own superhero team , longer than HL has been in charge of the seven.... theyre both in late 20s/early 30s or smth and they finally meet at some movie premiere for the first time... they pose for some pics, do some interviews about their rivalry but most importantly they finally get to talk, one on one. HL is so utterly dominated by madelyn at that point and maeve can immediately sense that he acts Mature and Wise in front of the cameras but once she puts the schmooves on him, he starts getting awkward.... she'd EAT him alive... in a good way. they have crazy sex and i KNOW shed call him a snappable twink underneath that suit... she'd hughie him... and afterward hl is just lying in her bed with a permanent O_O expression on his face bc this was the first time he had sex with a Supe and didnt need to hold back. until he realizes that madelyn would be SO fucking mad if she learned he just hooked up with the Competition. he'd be losing his shit while maeve smugly vapes next to him in bed.

NOT IN THE NEAR FUTURE I DONT THINK SO :(((.... im rly bad at doing multiple projects at once and i am living in the mirrored world for now. also i feel comfortable where bad ending and worse ending are for the time being : ) i have some things i wrote in that universe but never published bc theyre just tiny bitsy scraps ...

that said after s5 i had a super strong urge to get back to bad ending and write about those first days in the cabin when butcher was still mean as fuck to HL and HL was still adjusting to being depowered bc yay whump BUT I DONT HAVE THE TIMEEEEE , I WISH I DID T_T ... they should let me write fics fulltime fr

you get me omgggg like, normally i don't give a shit about any potential het ships BUT MAEVELANDER oughh 😭😭😭 they make me so sad, they really could have been the Power Couple they claimed in the media to be if only things didn't go so wrong from the start and HL wasn't so doomed by the narrative of his own upbringing ughh i think as newbies he must have looked up to cool, defiant maeve so much, and then of course he grew more warped and maeve grew to despise him and things went to shit :((

you know what i love to think about ... how maeve was helping him to become more human and he was starting to get more and more Authentic the longer he interacted with her, like finally his Actual personality started to come thru, his little jokes etc etc... i do think she was such a formative person to him . like she wasnt there to fix him or make him better but just by being with him and talking to him, she helped him become a person and not a product... something that madelyn probably wasnt too fond of and i bet she was happy when they broke up cuz that made HL easier to control again

their interactions in s1 were SO good it must be said. like when she talks him down from killing starlight after it comes out she was dating hughie was SOOO good ough i need to rewatch that scene.

i think she should be younger than him but the timeline doesnt rly make sense... bc if he started heroing at 18 yrs old then shed be like. 14. and the seven definitely didnt start out as a teen team, they already had black noir on . i think this is one of those canon things that just fall apart when u start to examine it FGHIFGH unfortunately maeve never got like. a proper backstory... in s1 we hear she was superheroing even w/o vought for most of her life and then we also know she went to godolkin... i always hc'd her getting signed onto seven immediately after graduation bc thats something that almost happened in gen v with a different character. the timelines dont quite match up... but maybe she could be a later addition to the seven actually

i like to imagine it was maeve 🫠 coz maybe HL associated shame with sexuality due to being laughed at by that scientist and wasn't sure how sex with another person would be, and Vought probably liked keeping that as part of his small town innocent boy image or whatever, and when Maeve and HL got roped into the fake relationship at some point they talked about sex and she thought it was hilarious that he was a virgin and then showed him the ropes...

I AGREE I THINK ITS THE BEST CASE SCENARIO FOR HIM ... tho madelyn is probably more likely but maeve wouldve been better for his ... Everything.

i think vought didnt want him fucking AT ALL , because of possible scandals if he started to sleep around or whatever. they clearly wanted him to be a very saintly hero so im sure they tried to discourage him, they avoided the topic aside from . basics , just so he wouldnt sound weird during an interview or something . so he was extremely sheltered and inexperienced when he came out of the lab

and i loooove thinking abt that era of vought when payback was still the main team and the seven was below them in the rankings ... its implied HL left the lab when he was 16 yrs old, i bet they waited till he was 18 before they officially started the seven for him and i loooove thinking about the awkward young adult HL and already famous maeve fresh out of godolkin on that first version of the seven OHHH MY GODDDDD my fucking blorbos. it hurts me to think abt maeve who always pitied him but didnt hate him yet ... maeve teaching him how to act like a normal fucking person, teaching him that its okay to disobey what marketing execs were saying etc etc OUUUHHHHHGHHGHHG.... and now so many years later she blames herself for giving HL the tools to start terrorizing ppl BUT ITS NOT HER FAULT..... oughhhh my blorbos. my blorbos from my show.

BUT YEAH if she was his first time that literally wouldve been. the best possible scenario. even if she would make fun of him a bit or whatever, its still better than anything that couldve happened in the lab or madelyn grooming him right after he left it 😖😖😖😖
