I agree that beauty trends have taken over our western society, sometimes for the wrong reasons; and it's impossible to live a life unaffected by these trends. However, I as an individual can choose how it influences my lifestyle. I enjoy playing with styles and my appearance; and it's empowering to know that I have the freedom to change my exterior to suit my emotions. We as women have so much to offer, in all of our variety. Compliment each other. Even if you can't find the words, compliment others within your own mind to project a more positive relationship between our fellow sisters. ❤️

Young girls in Afghanistan are defying norms and empowering themselves through an unexpected sport: skateboarding. Skateistan, founded by Oliver Percovich, provides free skateboarding lessons to street children followed up with educational time in classrooms.

“We want the girls to see one another as role models instead of the war lords who would drive around town with a car load of men who are waving guns around,” says Percovich.
