I’m trying to play da origins on my pc and upon booting it up it is BROKEN. My save data is gone and the UI is glitching to all hell, also did not realise the DA servers where gone now fml.

My the funniest thing is that all the tattoos on the character customisation have turned into this???

Like I’m kinda devastated that all my stuff is gone but I’m sort of tempted to use this just to see if it sticks.

I love reading old Star Trek novels. The concept of Kirk rocking up to the bridge shoeless and just keeping the viewscreen higher so the guys they are hailing can’t tell is so unbelievably funny to me.

My step dad played a bit more of Detroit Become Human today. And he has so many fun theories on what’s gonna happen.

We just finished the ‘on the run’ chapter and Conner died during his run. What’s interesting is this actually has shifted his perspective on Hank. He’s been quite negative towards Hank so far (tragically) but seeing Hank’s reaction to Conner’s death has begun to shift that. My step dad was talking about how upset Hank looked and sounded, and how he think’s he might of misjudged him because he seems to care.

His current theory at this point is that Hank had a previous android partner/friend who was either killed by a Deviant or went Evil and that’s why Hank doesn’t like androids. He keeps talking about how he can’t wait for the Hank backstory flashback with his ex android partner frolicking in the field together. Which is kinda charming.

I’m really looking forward to his reaction later on once we learn about Cole.

Rewatching the AOS movies agian and one of this things I like about the Kelvin timeline movies is the way it flips the Spirk yearning for me.

TOS Spirk for me has Spock falling for Kirk first. With him obviously holding feelings for Kirk but not saying anything till at least post the motion picture. But there is an underlying jealously and slightly melancholy to Spock’s affection for Kirk, that is amplified by Kirks many MANY romantic forays. I think we see it especially in episodes like the Edith Keeler time travel one (I can’t remember the name right now).

But with the Kelvin timeline I think it flips with Kirk falling for Spock first. After the 2009 film we don’t really see Kirk experience the same attempts as romantic twists that TOS Kirk does. Instead from into darkness onward his strongest emotional connection is with Spock. Spock is with Uhura in these movies (which I personally do not like much at all but hey it’s there I suppose) and thus that emotional sensitivity is tied to their relationship rather than Kirk and Spock’s like in the original. And I’ve always read aos kirk as being a little jealous of that, much like tos Spock is of Kirk’s romantic connections.

I also feel like the presence of tos Spock in the Kelvin timeline might have amplified those feelings, cuz the is NO WAY that some of tos Spock’s gay feelings for tos Kirk didn’t bleed through that mind meld. And the idea of aos Kirk knowing that he and Spock had something in another life really adds to the repressed yearning.

While I have many issues with Kelvin movies and I do think they tone down a lot of queer subtext especially with Spock’s characterisation (which is crazy to me because to me Spock always felt like the queerest character in the original series) I do like the idea of the flipped spirk yearning.

If you write fanfiction know that I love you so much. Genuinely going on to ao3 and reading fics after finishing a piece of media is genuinely one of the greatest feelings a person can have.

Genuinely one of my favourite little details in Detroit become human is Kamski’s eyes being brown when he’s younger but greyish blue when he’s older. This does imply he wears contacts just for the aesthetic which I find very fun and says a lot about his personality.

Reaplying Detroit become Human but trying to get the bad ending just so I can finally 100% the game and it is actually so mentally draining. Some of these ending and plot points are so emotionally harrowing and I hate seeing these characters go through this stuff.

Literally having to pause and go watch the sheep detectives to calm down my god.

I just finished the new ep of Vox Machina having not watch the original campaign and IS GROG ACTUALLY DEAD?!? Like for real dead?!?

My stepdad is playing DBH for the first time and I’ve been watching him play, and honestly it really making me appreciate the game so much more.

I played this game ALOT when was a teenager. It was the only game I owned on my PlayStation for a good while so I replayed it regularly.

But for my stepdad who’s running through it for the fist time, it’s all so new to him and he’s so invested. We just finished the chapter where Kara arrives at Todd’s house for the first time and he was so stressed that if he did somthing wrong Todd would snap.

And after we finished he was chatting to me about how much he empathised with Kara and how the game made him really feel anxious. He kept going on about how incredible it is that games can really make you feel while playing them.

He’s only resently started playing video games and watching his reaction and emotional responses is actually so interesting. It really got me appreciating the power of the medium. I feel like I sometimes look at games so technically that I don’t appreciate them emotionally, especially one I’ve played as much as Detroit.

It’s just nice appreciating the medium through my stepdad’s fresher eyes.

Big Congrats to my stepdad who is trying to get into gaming for the first time in his life, cuz he just beat his first ever video game!!!!! He’s so happy and I’m so happy!!
