Ana just walked, she wasnât sure of all these questions, she had recently returned and chaos seemed to just increase the more she delved deeper into the situation. Amelie deserved to know though, if she had planned on fighting with them. âSmall, under 20 at best, and even lower at worst. Overwatch as you and I knew it is no more, we are more a group of vigilantes than an organization. We help who we can, when we can, thatâs all i know.â she said morbidly, the words sounding slightly hopeless as they exited her mouth, she wasnât sure as to what she would do, what Amelie would do, she would be with her in whatever she chose to do though.
AmĂ©lie both felt and looked like she was going to be sick, her steps slowing until she had come to a complete stop. A group of vigilantes with no outside power whatsoever. Didnât that make what they were doing completely and totally illegal? Were they going on missions in different counties? Were they actually invading other countries? This could be disastrous. This could cause a war. âNo leader and no alliances.â She sighed and started to walk again, looking more and more exhausted with each step. This was such a mess and no one was even trying to fix it, it seemed. She fell back into step with Ana, folding her arms tightly over her chest. âWho do we have? Reinhardt, Jack...?â She trailed off, watching the older woman expectantly.

âMy roommate had to go into my room and throw the sheets away because I havenât been able to sleep in that bed since you left.â
âI keep asking myself âwhy isnât the sun bright anymoreâ but then I remember youâre not in my life anymore and realize itâs just my own eyes.â
âI regret it all. Â I really do, I swear. Â Please, pleaseâ letâs fix this, please.â

âI canât move on from something that wasnât supposed to end!â
âThe phone calls arenât the same⊠I can hear in your voice that itâs not the same anymore.â
âIâm trying to avoid talking because I know what itâll lead to, and I donât want that to come.â
âDonât you think you can fall back in love with me?â
âThis whole time Iâve been using you to make me feel better, and you never caught on. Â You never caught on. Â I want you to hate me now, but I donât think youâre even able to.â
âKissing me breaks the promise⊠remember?â

âTo think, we thought just the sex would be enough to keep us in love.â
âBack then, I lied when I told you I didnât love you. Â You needed to move on from meâ I needed to protect you from me.â
âYou never had that shine in your eyes when you were with me.â

âTo think Iâve changed so much to get you to like me, and you still never really look my way.â
âI know I deserve better than you.  I realize that, but you were so broken⊠I didnât want to be the one that made you shatter.â
âAll of this was to protect myself.â
âI feel like Iâve been looking for who you used to be⊠Back when you were actually happy.â

âI should have listened to everyone who told me this was a bad idea.â
âIâve never met someone who can so gently destroy me the way you do.â
âI canât forget about him/her! Â Itâs not in my power to forget how he/she felt when they loved me.â
âThe saddest thing is that when I told him/her I loved him/her, he/she thought I was lying. Â He/she never believed someone could fall in love with him/her.â
âListen⊠ Youâre his/her best friend⊠and I completely fucked upâ itâs over between us, but⊠please, punch me, or punish me, or do something to me because he/she just⊠cried.  He/she wasnât even angry, they were just so sadâ Please, be angry at me, please.  Give me what I deserve.â
âIt would have been better if we never met.â
âYouâre my regret.â
âIâm not angry at you, just at myself⊠Because I knew this would happen, but I let myself fall in love with you anyways.â
âDonât tell me to give up like everything is meaningless.â
âThis is why I donât let myself fall in love.â
âSomewhere deep inside me, I still have hope that youâll fall in love. Â How pathetic.â
Bad Call
[ continued from here @retterin ] AmĂ©lie clearly had no intention of listening to the woman before her as she started to pace, clearly struggling to keep her emotions in check. There were no signs? Was this Angela anywhere near as good a doctor as the one from her time? How could someone brutally tortured for god knows how long show no signs of brainwashing? âThe system in here for kidnapped agents is lax, Doctor. What happened to protective custody for people who could be sleeper agents? Did you do away with that just in time to have GĂ©rard brutally murdered?â Or did they not do that at all in this timeline? This is exactly why they needed a leader! Stupid slip ups like this shouldnât be happening!Â
How does it feel knowing that there is nothing you could have done to save Gerard in this world or your own. You're helpless, and your inaction makes you just as at fault for his death as anyone else.
"In this world, your Gérard was never mine to begin with, so while I am saddened he was so brutally murdered, it really has nothing to do with me. My Gérard however...it is my fault. There was so much I could have done to prevent his death...I regret it every day."
Flattery will get you everywhere, luv *winks* - tracersrecall
âYou were the first person to make me laugh after GĂ©rardâŠI know it isnât much of a compliment in the traditional sense, but nothing meant more to me in that moment. Mille fois merci.â
Send me âFlattery will get you everywhereâ and my muse will give yours the very best compliment they can think of!
Widowmaker narrowed her eyes at the woman before her. âI did love him,â she said simply. âI still love him.â Dropping her hands from the womanâs wrists, she took a step back, one hand moving to rest on her hip.
âAnd I am proud of both. Just as I am proud of killing him.â A small stab to her chest. A flat lie. âIt was a very clean kill considering my inexperience. The hardest part was GĂ©rard convincing Angela to let me return home without running full tests.â
She smirked. âOr dear friend Angela could have prevented all of this. How does that make you feel?â Her eyes narrowed again. âIt didnât even take much. He barely had to ask.â
AmĂ©lie rubbed her wrists once she was released, pulling her sleeves down over them to hide the bruises that were already starting to form there. âWhat love? Even if the murder wasnât your fault, here you are bragging about it to me like a preening hen.â The mention of Angela set her afire once more, but she couldnât afford to be distracted. âStop bringing up other people! I am not here to argue what other people have done, Iâm here to hold you responsible for murdering GĂ©rard. Angela didnât kill him, you did. No excuses.â AmĂ©lie stepped close to Widowmaker, face right up in the other womanâs, their noses almost touching. âMaybe you arenât proud and thatâs why you keep trying to make excuses and shift the blame, but we both know that youâre the murderer. Stop playing these games, AmĂ©lie.âÂ
Fareeha chuckled softly. âIâm surprised Lena didnât offer you any of hers,â she said, putting a hand on the womanâs shoulder and slowly steering her down the hall. âShe has a standing prescription of Angieâs strongest ones. Iâll get you some though, donât worry.â
She kept up some idle chatter as they walked to the kitchen and Fareeha pulled out some leftover lasagna to heat up for AmĂ©lie. Setting the plate down in front of the woman at the counter, she leaned her elbows against the marble and sighed. âShe will not be easy to find,â she noted after a few moments of silence.
AmĂ©lie probably hadnât actually given her much of a chance with how much of a mess she had been. And continued to be, honestly. Sometimes she could feel herself slipping when she was standing firmly on both feet. That jet had really done a number on her, to be feeling it this long after the crash. Once she had settled and started eating the lasagna that Fareeha had graciously retrieved for her, AmĂ©lie looked up with the empty fork touching her lips at the Fareehaâs sudden comment. Widowmaker? Of course not. Her lips twitched and she set the fork down for the moment, fingers lacing together in front of her as she spoke slowly. âOverwatch must have contacts elsewhere, right? I know weâre not as...world renowned as we once were, but there has to be someone out there looking out for us. Would they know?â There was always mercs, even though AmĂ©lie always had a hard time trusting them. But this wasnât her world, and in this moment, she didnât care what she screwed up as long as this walking mistake perished in the mess.
Widowmakerâs smirk grew as the woman grew visibly more distressed. She didnât know why this was so satisfying but it was. Wasnât that her reason for coming?
When the woman struck her though, all amusement flew out the window. Hissing, the assassin caught AmĂ©lieâs wrists before she could throw anymore punches and with a growl she pinned the woman against the wall. âYou donât know anything about me,â she hissed. âYou think you do. But you do not. You are not me. You are a poor imitation from another time â another world.â
She snarled and she eased up on her grip only to slam the woman harder against the wall. _âYour_ husband was so weak,â she hummed. âI heard he died of a spider bite how pitiful.â She smirked. âBut at the same time, fitting, hm? Do you know how many times Talon made attempts on my husbandâs life before they finally resorted to me?â
AmĂ©lie wasnât prepared for the womanâs strength, her body being slammed back into the wall easily. Not only did they brainwash her, it seemed like they did something to her physically. Her skin was a dead giveaway as well, but her enhanced strength was something else. AmĂ©lie struggled nonetheless, bodily throwing her weight around to try and wrench free. âPoor imitation? Iâm real, youâre fabricated. Created. A knockoff.â AmĂ©lie would never admit this woman was someone that she could become. Ever. Sheâd kill herself before she let herself become a heartless cold assassin who murders her own husband. The mention of GĂ©rard sent anger flaring up inside her hotter than she had ever felt it, her pale face flushing brightly as she tried to contain herself. âWho cares if he was weaker? You really want to stand here and preen that your GĂ©rard was stronger than mine when you killed him in cold blood, you bitch? Bragging about him even though you ended his life with your own two hands. I heard you were fucked up, but this is on a whole new level entirely.â And then she laughed loud, but it was more of a bark of deep loathing, no hint of humor anywhere. âDo you even know what to be proud of anymore? Yourself for killing him or your dead husband for living longer than mine? At least mine died loved.â
Ana furrowed her brow, they didnât have much of a leader, it was true that Winston had sent out the recall, he was the one who coordinated some of the missions she had been on, so possibly he could be considered a leader. He would never admit to it, there was nothing really keeping them together, maybe just the will to do the right thing, to protect people.
âAmĂ©lie, this is quite dangerous dear. We donât have much of a leadership, I could possibly get you in the main Mission hub if youâd like?â She offered, though she knew that wouldnât sedate her need, she would want to fight, to redeem her name, to avenge her husband. âThough, Iâm sure that is beneath you. If you come with me, we can get you a room at the watchpoint, then we can get you trainedâŠâ she said, shaking her head to herself as she walked away from her slowly, urging her to follow. She wasnât sure about any of this, she wouldnât know what she would do if she was the cause of another death of someone she could have saved.
No leadership? AmĂ©lie balked at the thought, her eyes widening like she couldnât believe what she had just heard. Even if it wasnât Jack or Gabriel, there had to be someone who could lead them...what would she do if there wasnât? âTake me.â Nothing was beneath here, not here and not back in her own time. She followed Ana briskly, falling into step beside her easily. Ana could lead, AmĂ©lie was sure. Even without her eye, Ana was an incredible soldier - one that could inspire others to be just as amazing. But she wasnât, and there had to be a reason for it. This wasnât the time to ask, however. âWhat are our numbers? How are our alliances?â AmĂ©lie had always been the delegate sent to speak with country leaders whenever it was needed, but she doubted that she could do that in this time with Widowmaker running amok with her face.Â

Lena laughed softly at the memory and held the woman tighter. âWell⊠It was a really nice dress⊠I ever tell you I had a crush on you back then?â She still did, honestly, but with everything happening â Widowmaker and all of that â it had become more⊠complicated.
âSorry⊠probably noâ the besâ thing taâââ she broke off as the woman started speaking French, clutching to her as if her life depended on it.
Lenaâs mind slowly muddled through the French. She had been learning⊠a little. She was fairly passable at most languages, but for whatever reason, French was her downfall â figured.
âJe ferai⊠de mon mieuxâŠâ she stammered through, the words slipping around in her mind. She thought she had gotten it right though, even if her pronunciation had been rubbish. Sliding a hand up to the back of AmĂ©lieâs neck, she pressed their foreheads together gently.
âYouâre one of my best friends, luv⊠Thaâ makes you my top priority.â Not to mention she had failed to save Widowmaker. She wasnât going to make the same mistake this time around.
AmĂ©lie had known the younger woman had had a crush on her, but obviously she had had GĂ©rard, and then...she hadnât, and there had been nothing left inside of her to love like that. Even now, so long after his death she wasnât sure she was even capable of love like that anymore. But now really wasnât the time, but thankfully Lena moved on at the breakneck speed she was known for, and AmĂ©lie was eternally grateful. She was already reeling from the trip she had just had, she didnât need to pile guilt on top of the swirling pool of emotions coursing through her. She couldnât handle it. She could barely handle breathing and speaking at the same time, after all. Her best. â Je n'en demandais pas plus.â It felt natural saying that at least - a constant phrase from her training classes and generally something she said to all the new recruits, even if they understood it or not. Finally, AmĂ©lieâs body either started to even out of the time-spinning keel it decided to go on or for the moment it was manageable, and she felt like she could open her eyes without feeling as if she was going to fly sideways into space. âWhere are we?â Her voice shook as much as she was, but she didnât sound quite as emotional as before.
What Could Have Been [closed rp]
âWoah, woah, okay⊠easyâŠâ Lena murmured, finally dropping her guard completely and bringing both hands up to steady the woman. âYouâre gonna be alrighâ jusâ breatheâŠâ She bit her lip, remembering her own ordeal after her Slipstream incident.
Taking a breath, she rubbed AmĂ©lieâs back slowly. âYouâre alrighâ luv⊠weâll figure out whaâ happenedâŠâ She hesitated and bit her lip. âCan I give yaâ a hugâŠ? Would thaâ be alrighâ?â At the womanâs barely perceptible nod, Lena actually climbed up into the bed with her and wrapped her arms around the taller woman, resting her cheek on her shoulder.
âJusâ breathe and focus on my voice, yeah?â she murmured. âLeâ me ground yaâ.â She knew what it was like to feel floaty after a timestream jump. And by now she was sure thatâs what this was. âWanna tell me whaâ your first memory of me is?â she asked, making sure to keep her voice soft and even.
It was easier said than done, breathing. Her heart was going a mile a minute and the panicked woman had to focus hard on breathing to actually accomplish it, chanting inspirer and expirer in her head to help accomplish the task. It took her a few seconds to actually hear Lena asking if she wanted a hug and she managed to nod, all the while focusing on breathing. Lenaâs tight embrace steadied her enough that she started to breathe almost normally, but the falling sideways feeling just wouldnât stop. She tilted her head to the side and waited to see if that helped, quickly straightening when it actually made it worse. âYou playing with Winston, and he was crying because you had been lost for so long.â AmĂ©lie murmured, her own speech clipped and quick though she felt as if she was speaking too slowly. âYou blinked over and told me my dress was pretty, and then you were gone. I laugh. You always make me laugh.â She was rambling now, trying to keep her mind focused on one thing so it wouldnât keep trying to split off in seemingly infinite directions. She let go of her knees slowly, the world tipping just enough that she quickly compensated for it by grabbing Lenaâs shoulder, her other arm quickly snaking around her chest to grip her as tightly as she had been gripping her legs. âProtĂšge moi, Lena...s'il vous plaĂźt. Je suis perdu , et effrayĂ©.âÂ
What Could Have Been [closed rp]
Lenaâs hand almost met the other womanâs halfway, but when she moved to take the sheets instead, Lena pulled back quickly. Biting her lip, she watched as the woman attempted to steady herself. So young. She was so young. Lena could tell, even before the woman gave her answer. The way this woman carried herself was so different than what Lena had come to know from Widowmaker.
When the answer did come, Lena simply blinked for several moments. âTwenty-five?â she shook her head. âBloody âell⊠youâre a year younger than me now, luvâŠâ She shook her head. âWell, youâre definitely not from this time⊠Thaâs for sure.â
Frowning, she reached out to put a gentle hand on the womanâs shoulder, ready to pull back if she reacted badly. âIâm sorry for scarinâ you like that, luv⊠Itâs jusâ⊠I guess things happened a bit differently here than wherever you came fromâŠâ She pressed her lips together. âSo I guess itâs safe to say you donât work with Talon, yeah?â She laughed nervously.
A year younger than Lena? AmĂ©lie had thought she felt sick before, but now with the world tipping and spinning it was seemingly turning upside down and sending her stomach careening. She swallowed thickly and waited for the blood rushing in her ears to quiet, but it didnât and Tracerâs hand startled her badly and she opened her eyes in a blind panic. âI would never.â AmĂ©lie let go of the sheets and covered her eyes and brought her legs up to her chest, practically quaking as her body finally started to react to the trauma she had obviously went through in the time hop and the subsequent crash. âI feel like Iâm floating, Lena.â She didnât sound entirely there right then, her voice muffled by her legs, slowly swaying sideways before she righted herself again through sheer willpower. Whatever effects the Slipstream was having on her was making her feel like she was falling sideways and if she actually tipped she might just keep going. She was terrified.
@fiereveuve
AmĂ©lie could feel her pent up anger and rage boiling over as she read this farce of an apology, wondering in what world she could find something like this funny. Even reading this nonsense was giving her headache, each stressed throb of her heart paining her more and more. Died peacefully, dreaming of her. This AmĂ©lie didnât deserve that love, nor that piece of mind. She crumpled the paper and dropped it to the desk in front of her, and then she smacked it away with her hand as if she couldnât stand to see it. She rose from her chair so fast that she knocked it backwards, moving around the desk quickly toward the smug, disgusting woman before her. It didnât matter that this fake was armed and she wasnât, she couldnât hold back any longer. In one fluid motion, AmĂ©lie raised her hand and smacked the woman as hard as she could across the face. âThis apology is trash, Widowmaker.â She spat the name like poison. âOur husband? You donât deserve to speak of him.â
Fareeha responded with a bright smile of her own and dropped her arm, but only so she could envelop the woman in a great hug. âI have an inkling,â she murmured. âIâm only sorry that she wasnât already taken care of before now.â
Pulling back, she drew in a breath. âFor now, shall we go get something to eat. Perhaps some rest,â she suggested, noting the bags under AmĂ©lieâs eyes. âI know waiting doesnât sound like the best option, but weâll be better off tracking and fighting her when weâre at our best.â
AmĂ©lie hugged the woman back just as tightly, holding on for the moment like her life depended on it. Just like with her mother, AmĂ©lie felt safe in Pharahâs strong embrace, and when Pharah pulled away she felt like it ended too soon. But she was right, they did need to eat and she especially needed to sleep. She found it hard to settle down since she had gotten here, her legs jumping and twitching every time she would lie down to sleep. Maybe it was a side effect of the Slipstream, but her muscles kept jumping and startling her awake. She hadnât managed to find Angela yet, so she couldnât ask for something to help her sleep. âWhatever you think is best, I defer to your judgement.â Which was something she honestly did not do very much. But she was tired, her eyes were burning and her muscles were aching. She needed rest, but her body wouldnât let her. It was problematic. She yawned and rubbed at her face, eyes blearily watching Pharah. âIs there...sleep medicine here?â It was a military base after all, and with the monstrosities and atrocities that Overwatch saw on a daily basis, surely there had to be something tucked away somewhere.
Mccree gently pushed the door open to Améle office. He had taken the brunt of the betrayal, with Gabriel taking his arm, and eye. After several days of recovery, he wanted to see how Améle was holding up. "Améle?" He called out.
AmĂ©lie had gotten herself set up in a little office in the new Overwatch main base, though she actually had no reason to be here. Everyone here was practically a traitor, having not gone after the woman who killed her husband. Letting her walk free. Letting Blackwatch members defectâŠwhat had happened? She looked up quickly as McCree walked in, her eyes widening at how different he was from her own time. She was used to him being so young and clean shaven, and now he looked like a cowboy hobo. âJesse?!â She quickly stood up from her chair, sprinting the short distance to stand in front of him, hand hovering over the stump where his arm used to be. Gabriel. She frowned, biting hard at her lip.Â
Even though she didnât touch it, he let out a low since, as the phantom pain was still fresh. Though he wouldnât allow it to bother him, as he was surprised to see her act so quickly. Yet Seinfeld her here only made him sad, as the thought of watching so many of his friends die haunted him. Not only that, but he felt personally responsible for not doing more. âIâm sorry ma'am.â He whispered, tears slowly forming in his only eye.
AmĂ©lie quickly jerked her hand away from his arm, knowing that the pain was only in his head but feeling horrific for causing it anyway. âDonât apologize. Not your fault.â She looked at his face, the bandage over his eye breaking her heart even more. If they had of been on top of things more, kept a better eye on Blackwatch, this wouldnât have happened. Jesse wouldnât be...this injured. Or injured at all. The tear that streaked slowly down his face caused a hard lump to form in her throat, and she struggled to keep her own emotions in check because she wasnât the injured one. She wasnât the one who needed comfort, he was. She balled her sleeve up over her palm and reached up to softly dab at the tear, so careful not to hurt the injured side of his face. âYou should be resting, Jesse. Iâll walk you back to the infirmary.â She finished wiping at his face, her arms dropping resignedly to her sides.Â
