Dinagyang 2013

Enjoying another Philippine Festivity this January - Dinagyang 2013. Another festivity in honor of the Sto. Niño, characterized by a frenetic stomping of feet and hypnotic drumbeating. It is a colorful whirl of thousands of people dressed in unique costumes dancing and chanting all day and night. This event has also been marked by Tourists as one of the most awaited festivity in the Country.

Cebu's Sinulog Festival

The Sinulog is an annual festival held on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City, Maasin City, Southern Leyte, Philippines and Balingasag, Misamis Oriental. The festival commemorates the Filipino people's pagan origin, and their acceptance of Roman Catholicism.

I've been longing to witness and experience all Philippine Festivities ever since. Hope to fulfill that dream now that I already have a decent camera with me. Sinulog Festival in Cebu is one of the first Philippine festivities this Month. It's very refreshing to see their street parade of bright coloured costumes dancing to the rhythm of drums, trumpets and native gongs. It's a celebration to honor the Santo Niño which is held in various parts of the province.

A very religious way to start our year is to witness the Feast of Black Nazarene.

For this year it's about 500,000 Filipino devotees; 9 million attendees, who participated in the yearly event that took roughly 6 hours of waiting to arrive in Sta Cruz Manila.

Opened October 1, Works of art have taken center stage in this year's MassKara Festival at Bacolod City. Visit Bacolod City to see several artists designed the giant puppets, smiling masks, colorful costumes and sea and mountain creatures aboard lighted boats.

Rizal Park in Australia

A new reason for all our filipino migrants at Australia to feel at home - a new statue of Dr. Jose Rizal in a quiet park in Campbelltown City, in suburban Sydney, named after the Philippine national hero. The statue was donated by renowned Filipino sculptor Eduardo Castrillo. Enrique “Iking” Reyes, great grandson of Rizal’s sister, Saturnina Realonda Rizal, and his family were present during the unveiling of the statue. The statue is the latest addition to Rizal landmarks in Australia, which already has five in New South Wales state and one in Victoria state. Remembering Laughs and Joys with Pidol

Yes, Dolphy has been gone for almost three months now (July 10,2012); and this might be too late for everyone to read but I still want to share some thoughts of him because I do remember my husband with him. As my husband is also a comedian at home when he was still alive. He's our "Dolphy" at home. We always watch 'John en Marsha' during those days; also the 'Home along the Riles' series.

Dolphy never fails to make us all laugh in every episode of those two tv series as with my husband whenever he tries to imitate some Dolphy antics. It will always turn our house upside down. Well as what Ecclesiastes 3 say: There's a time for everything. Dolphy and my hubby may not be here physically anymore but their laughs and joys live on.
