Photographe reporter, Robert Doisneau répond à beaucoup de commandes venant des journaux ou des artistes. Sur cette photo, Juliette Gréco est à peine âgée de 21 ans. Si Doisneau l’immortalise, c’est surtout pour avoir le chien, Bidet, qui est la coqueluche de Saint-Germain-des-Prés et sur lequel il fait un reportage pour le journal Point de vue. Ce chien joue sur la scène du Théâtre Montparnasse aux côtés de Gérard Philipe dans la pièce d’Alfred Savoir, Le Figurant de la Gaîté.
