Guysssssssss

I know I haven’t written on this thing in foreverrrrr but if I don’t write about this movie I’m never gonna forgive myself!

I saw this movie maybe a little less than a week ago and my heart feels some type of way. I am madly in love and married to my dream guy and yet this movie made me feel like I was them and shit guys, I cried!!!!! I mean I always cry but this one made me really CRY CRY. Talk in my sleep cry. Still think about days later cry. Soooo that should tell you something.

And don’t misunderstand it’s a good movie and it’s pure in every way. I’m writing this because I want everyone to watch it!

Natural, beautiful, didn’t over do anything, realistic and mannnnn the music is PERFECT!! Govind Vasantha did an amazinggggg job. I legit don’t have to rewatch the movie (but I will); just listening to the songs over hits my heart.

So if you haven’t seen it please go watch it now.

I just wanna vent and say If Bollywood tries and takes our Dulquer Salmaan away I am going to be soooooo mad. Malayalam movies are the shit right now and if you’re not riding on that train you are extremely missing out. DQ & others are part of this amazing thing that’s happening to our movies and I don’t wanna lose him or anyone else.

So I went to an art conference at my school. We discussed things there, like how colors can be very powerful and our subconscious picks up the subtlest of hints. Pixar’s UP was a very unforgettable example. The colors of UP had a lot to do with why we cried. You all know what I’m talking about, right??

Ellie’s death.

We were told that her color was pink. That’s why her hospital room had pinkish hue.

And the next scene had strong pink hues. He misses her. I think it’s got strong colors because of her personality.

Also, It’s like her presence is still lingering.

When he got home, only a small part of the frame (window on the right) has a pink hue as the sun is setting. By now, we know her presence is drifting away.

Mr. Fredricksen walks up the porch and goes into his house.

And when he shuts the door, the final frame looks like this:

Ellie is gone.

The entire frame is desaturated and cold because the warmth in Mr. Fredrickson’s life is gone.

And that’s another reason why this masterpiece is heart-wrenching. And that’s how powerful colors are in films.

I was thrilled to pieces when I saw this scene. Disney could have written Gideon off like some bully character who never really amounted to anything, or got what was coming to him like a lot of those characters do in their movies.  Gideon made something of himself. He’s a pastry chef, something that’s not traditionally a job for men in media. And as soon as Judy speaks to him, he immediately apologizes to her. He doesn’t try to shrug it off as no big deal, or say that it was just boys being boys or whatever; he knows he hurt her, and he owns up to it. And Judy immediately forgives him. 

Well done, Disney.

Also the language that he used is not something that he would have most likely grown up hearing/using. Describing his failings as self-doubt that manifested into “unchecked rage and aggression” sounds SO MUCH like therapy speak. So he’s either gotten counseling to help him with some of his problems, or sought out literature to help himself. A++ disney :)

I just came back from the movie theatre. Finally saw Baahubali 2. I'm not gonna review the movie cause like my brain hurts after it (not in a bad way) butttt I either wish I saw it in Indian theatre when it came out or I wish I saw it in India. The audience was me & my dad & a cute old couple. No screaming, no clapping, no staying till the end credits....wtf?

I haven't stopped watching movies. In fact, I've watched TONS of movies since I stopped writing in this. But it was so many it got out of hand and I couldn't keep up with writing in this. Also, I have a job and a life (kinda) so that comes first. BUT also, after watching the previous movie, I wonder if I just didn't write in it because none of the others were worth it. Either way, I'll be better. But probably not. So just appreciate me while you can. Or not. Totally up to you. Luv ya. K bye

Pink Is this an April fools joke?? No it is not. I have watched a movie and I am about to go off on it!!!!! Or maybe not because I cried and I'm tired and I'm hungry. It took me a whole year to watch this movie because of one reason...I'm an idiot. But also cause...no offense...the trailer totally made Amitabh Bachchan look creepy as hell! I mean look at this movie poster for Gods sake! Anyways oh my God I loved this movie. It's not like a, "I love it let's watch it every day" but it's definitely worth the watch. It's a serious topic and it's a thriller/suspense type movie. Honestly I genuinely felt so bad for these girls and I wish there were more honest working people out in this world. Lawyers, Police, etc. who take their job seriously and don't use their power recklessly and actually help people who need it. And props to these girls, I have no idea if they had movies before or after or if this was their first but they did an awesome job. They all kind of look alike and they all look like a cross between Vidya Balan & Isha Talwar. Also, I really enjoy watching lawyers in a courtroom. They do what students do but verbally; they talk essays. When writing an essay: you need a strong introduction, at least three paragraphs to prove your intro and then a kick ass conclusion to remind the reader what you came in for, what you have proved and what the end result is. And that is what lawyers do verbally and that is exactly what Ami...err a certain lawyer did in the movie. So definitely watch this movie if you haven't already. It's on @netflix. If you're an emotional human being like me, have a box of tissues ready. If you're an asshole, maybe watch this movie to learn something. And um yeah, I've decided ((well I just can't remember if I did it previously or not)) that I'm not gonna give spoilers to any movies. Old or new. Cause then you won't watch it. Here is one spoiler alert but not really though...watch the end credits ((<- honestly you should do that for every movie but..)) it fills in the hole that you'll be curious about throughout the movie. "'No' isn't just a word, it's a complete sentence. It doesn't need any further explanation. 'No' simply means 'no'. My client said 'no' your honor. And these boys must realize, 'no' means 'no'. Whether the girl is an acquaintance, a friend, a girlfriend, or a sex-worker, or even your own wife, no means "no"! And when someone says so, you stop."

June 2014: 46 Malayali nurses who were working at a hospital in Tikrit, Iraq were abducted by ISIS rebels and detained in the city of Mosul. They were stranded for 23 days as Iraqi troops battled to regain control of Tikrit from ISIS. They didn’t know if they would ever make it back alive.

Take Off is a Malayalam movie based on these events, the real life stories of these Malayali nurses as they were trapped in a war zone, and how they made it back home.

Jomonte Suviseshangal.

Not that great but this was a really good role for Mukesh. I don't think I've ever seen him do this fatherly role; it's nice. The movie is really long...or to me it was. It's similar to Jacobinte Swargarajyam but unlike that one, this one is not a true story. Buttt I love the dark skinned girl. Hollaaaa =)
