Hello, darlings! This is the best image I could find for this week’s Incognito (underrated) Film. This is a scene from Disney’s The Black Cauldron, which is a fantastic film based on Lloyd Alexander’s “Chronicles of Prydain”. It is set in Wales around the time of King Arthur, and in addition to featuring a strong female character, Princess Eilonwy, it also boasts a character who, in my personal opinion, is one of the most terrifying villains in Disney History: The Horned King. This film is from Disney’s “Dark Age”, but it deserves much more recognition for its storytelling, character development, and the adorable little miscreant, Gurgi. Check out this film to see what I’m rambling about.

Hello Darlings! Sorry I’ve been falling down on the job lately. In any case, its Throwback Thursday! This week’s film is the 1987 film, The Princess Bride. I have strangely conflicting feelings about this one. I love Inigo Montoya and Fezzik. Strangely, they’re two of the most complex characters despite being secondary. The movie has no shortage of funny moments, and I find myself laughing every time I watch it. I even like the character of Westley pretty well, despite the fact that he’s a bit flat. I think the film as a whole makes for a good, lightweight movie night. Now for the down side. I’m not a fan of Buttercup. I don’t know if its the character or the actress, but throughout the film she could have easily been replaced with a rag doll. She’s just sort of...there.

Hello, darlings! So, today I’m spotlighting one of my favorite childhood films, Zeus and Roxanne. This movie remains one of the cutest I have ever seen. It is about a dog named Zeus and a dolphin named Roxanne who become friends when the dog’s owner and his son are visiting the island Roxanne lives near. This movie first sparked my interest in dolphins as a child, which still exists to this day. Looking back I love the way that this movie presents information about these incredible creatures while also telling a compelling story. This movie is also certified “No Animals Were Harmed” by the American Humane Society.

Hello, darlings! So, I wanted to do a monthly movie that I’m looking forward to, but a simple text post didn’t seem quite right. With this in mind, I created: THE GOLDEN KITTY!!!! Every month I will give a Golden Kitty to the movie I am looking forward to the most. Obviously, this month’s is the new How to Train Your Dragon movie. I’m very excited about it and I’m hoping you guys are, too. This movie is set to hit theaters on February 22.

So...I’m always wary of reboots. Call it a “once bitten, twice shy” reflex. *cough*Teen Titans Go*cough*. I loved this show growing up, and I’m really hoping they handle this new DCOM well. Disney usually does pretty well with reboots (Beauty and the Beast for instance), but I’m a little worried about this one. Y’all will have to let me know what you think: yea or nay?
