Day ten learning blender
Just a quick tutorial follow today, did a ducky3d one
day 9 learning blender
Pure CBA with a tutorial today, so I just did my own thing (badly), tried to reinforce what I learnt yesterday, so did an island and modelled some wind turbines and then played around with a Mixamo model for a fisherman. idk about this one, pespectiveof the wind turbines is off and lighting is rubbish, but better than nothing and trying to do something every day
Day 8 learning blender
Doing more of grant abbitt today, felt a lot more confident today when pausing to do the challenges before he shows how, was able to make several houses and the roof of the lighthouse on my own, felt confident with loop cuts and getting to grips with the shortcuts today. Was fun touching on sculpting for the first time today and playing around with compositing a lot more.
Day 7
Day 7 of learning blender, today I did the Blender 5 Complete Beginners Guide by Grant Abbitt. Really enjoyed it, loved learning about shading and lighting way more
Day 6
It's Sunday, really wasn't feeling continuing with my previous tutorial will get back to that on Monday, so I followed along with a tutorial by Summer85 on youtube to do ps1 style graphics for a nightstand. Was really interesting learning UV wrapping.
Day 5 learning blender
First make without a tutorial, tried to use what I had learned in the bottle lessons to make a lava lamp, the textures definitely aren't great, but pretty happy i remembered the basics and going to improve on it later
Day 4 learning blender
Day 4 was lots of swearing, lots of "I hate blender" "I hate computers". I restarted the bottle lid part on the tutorial I am following about twenty thousand times, various things going wrong, and I just don't know enough yet to be able to Google my way to a fix.
One of the last redos I was considering just quitting, couldnt get bevel to work for the life of me, it was only going in one direction, unlike the tutorial, did all the problem solving I could find, applied scale etc etc, ended up just redoing that part, still didnt work, redid again, and again and again, finally worked, idk what I did wrong or right, but it worked lol. An accidental success? I'll take it.
Took a break after that, again had some issues, couldn't get the loop cut to work, but this stickage was way less frustrating, and I learnt something new, the change the object in the current mode symbol and the importance of labelling your objects!
But anyway this is what I created following along, a funky oil bottle thing. I hate it, there's lots of issues, but I am never revisiting this freaking bottle again.
Day 3 so far
The tutorial I am watching had a task that was to make a bottle using the skills learnt in the previous lessons, so by yourself, not following along with a bottle tutorial.
It didn't go great, and I felt like I forgot how to use a computer, never mind blender, but I did get something that would be recognisable as a bottle even though it's pretty rubbish! Hoping to improve on it later today.
Day 2
Again, just following the Skillshare tutorial, learning more about what the various edit functions do, followed along to create the house from the tutorial and then on my own I added a little garage with the extrude tool. Then played around on my own, making the roof of the garage pitched by using the bridge edge loop function previously discussed and added a door to the front that's opened using extrude. Also followed a long with the lesson on how to model round objects and made a weird vase/glass thing
Day 1
Following the skillshare blender tutorial by bring your own laptop, didnt really build anything this day, just followed along with the first few lessons and then you had to create a set of images and text by yourself using the import picture as plane thing, I also messed about with some monkeys on a box. Not too bad
