My main story is Tommy’s Red Right Hand. 

A retelling of Season 1, with an original character slow burn love interest for Tommy who comes with a six year old for him to look after. It features a slightly younger than canon Ada, Tommy Shelby being a dad, found family and fluff along with some angst, some parental discipline and canon typical violence, swearing and attitudes towards women.

The entire library scene between Tommy and Ada is one of my absolute favorite between them.When Tommy was with Ada, he is not just gang leader Tommy, OBE Tommy or MP Tommy. He is just her annoying older brother Tommy that worries her to death. She truly became his rock as the seasons went on and they were my favorite sibling dynamic. He was not wrong when he told her as he walked away that she was bored, he knew she was smarter than all of them and was wasting her time and potential. And of course, the ever present pointer finger had to be make an appearance.

Hello Thura! I'm doing good. Busy, but good.

You've got me starting a story, but it quickly turned from fluff to hurt/comfort. 😬 I'm starting to think I can't write any length of a story without a little pain involved.

So here's a small fluff while I finish the other.

John moved through the house like a ghost, stepping over every creaky board and uneven place in the floor, sidestepping every toy as he opened every door, counted every child, and still could not find his wife.

Finally, as he squinted around the living room in the dark, Esme's soft voice whispered.

"I'm in the fort, John," he could hear the smile in her voice.

Earlier that day, the couch had been taken apart and sheets and pillows were stolen from rooms to make a fort. The kids begged it to stay up for tomorrow, and neither of them had the energy to fight about it.

John got on his hands and knees and crawled into the small opening, to find Esme curled up, staring at the sheet above her. The light from their bedroom made the tiny holes in the sheet look like stars.

"Why do we have a sheet full of holes?" John frowned. "We've got a maid. We're out of Small Health. Have her bring new sheets from the market."

"The kids did it," Esme giggled. "Apparently little John Jr. thought it gave the fort extra magic, so he stabbed it with the pocketknife you gave him."

John's face flipped between a scowl and a smile, conflicted on his feelings on the matter.

"Oh," was all he could say. John took Esme's hand and kissed it. "They're cute when they're not little devils."

"They're cute when they are," she chuckled. "No angel could survive this house."

"You seem to manage just fine, love," John smiled as Esme cuddled onto his chest. He kissed her temple.

John, the heart of the Shelby family

It's the end of the night, everything is winding down and the boys are finally ready to sleep. The snow is gone, the whiskey is gone, and the cigarettes have lost their appeal.

Arthur's already started dozing in place and John's swung his arm over his brother as he stares off and lives inside his head. It's in the dead of night, when everyone's passed out or sleeping, that John can remove the mask of being the funny one, the goofy one, the light. He's just as dark as his brothers, broken from the war and the loved ones he's lost, but he knows his place and does his job. As long as he does his part he knows that Arthur and Tommy will do theirs and what family they have left will be taken care of. They'll keep going.

Shelbys might see spirits and walk with death, but it's his job to make it a joke. Make the journey tolerable as they trek. He keeps the boyish attitude because someone has to. Someone has to pretend that they didn't lose their playful nature and that it can be rekindled in the others, stoked from the depths of pain and loss.

John takes his job seriously and acts as if it's effortless, if only to keep his brothers grounded and present. Arthur's the brawn. Tommy's the brain. But John is the heart.

I just read the last chapter and wow. I don't know what is about this story but every once in a while I have to go back to read it once more. I love Rosie. I love when she makes mistakes, her temper, the fact that you created not for Tommy but for her sake. Your dialogues are always top notch. It's so realistic that I prefer it to the original TV show. I find your character building, the plot, the difference nuances within the Shelby family much more complex and enjoyable that anything SK wrote. Curious what will happen in the next one. How Rosie will react to what he did at her job place? Damn it really feels like when he out on her name the house. Really thank you so much for sharing it with us! You are an amazing writer

Thank you so much! The current situation has definite parallels with when Tommy bought the house, but this time around he's had that experience and he's learned his lesson about putting her name on official papers without asking...

Since you insinuated that Finn will be heartbroken over Isaiah and Lily getting together, I do hope Finn will find his happy ending. I think turning Finn against his family in season 6 was a bad move, but since you wrote about Finn on Family Dinner, having survived WW2 and still being part of the family, I hope you'll write Finn having a different outcome than in the series.

I definitely want Finn to have a different, happier outcome than in the series/film. I really hated the way his story went in canon - as much as he was telling Tommy he was the brother he forgot about, I ultimately feel like SK just forgot about him, then had to try and turn it into something. The way he just wasn't even mentioned in the film was infuriating. So 100% in my version of events Finn will end up happier <3
