Me, when the unit is in chaos but I have to chart sometime…
What I’m thinking during most crazy/gross situations at work...
Patient family members that come in demanding a pillow, warm blanket, lunch tray, parking pass, and to see the doctor this instant
When all hell is breaking loose on the unit, but I’m remembering I‘m off tomorrow...
Management walking in on night shift shenanigans
That first year as a nurse (and still sometimes years later)…
Me, when people ask what it’s like to work the holidays...
Me, when the unit is in chaos but I have to chart sometime…
So true it hurts lol.

My first day on the unit as a new grad
When I’m trying to assess my patient and a family member keeps interrupting to tell me about their extremely minor health issues

Qualified
So, I’ve finished uni, finished my final placement and passed everything - I guess that makes it official, I’m now a qualified children’s nurse.
thoughts....fuck.
In 2 weeks I begin my first job as an RN,I’m officially responsible for the tiny people that I look after and its my registration on the line if I mess up.
Beginners nerves maybe, idk, I definitely know enough to get through, all the basics that will at the very least keep my patients alive and allow me to alert for help when needed. I just have an overwhelming feeling of dread about the whole situation. I think it will be better when I’ve finished my first week or so, just need to settle in before I make any judgements about my skills.
