NO NEW JOB OFFER had come through over the past week and julian was already feeling anxious. what if they’d found someone better? what if he’d lost his credit? since he’d all but lost his mind cooped up inside his cluttered apartment going over worst case scenarios, the male decided it was time to head out and attempt to find some kind of distraction from all the noise inside his head. so he headed for chapman’s in the hope that a cold drink might help him forget — at least for the following 24 hours. however, instead of completely disconnecting once he’d arrived at the hangout spot, julian still had his nose glued to the phone screen in the hope that if he refreshed for long enough there would finally be a new e-mail in his inbox with the much-anticipated offer. distracted as he was, the male reached out for his pint of beer but instead grabbed a hold of someone else’s beverage. the error went unnoticed even as he slid the glass in his direction. “ oh come on! fucking work… “ he muttered at the device, frustration clearly audible in his tone.
‘ woah, buddy, ’ andie says aloud, a lithe hand reaching forward to steer the bottle of beer back in her direction. she’s perched on the rather uncomfortable bar stool of their local dive, legs crossed over one another as emerald hues scanned the crowd for a familiar face. ( it wasn’t often that she went out like this ––– not anymore, at least ). ‘ if you really wanted a free drink, you could’ve just asked. my answer still would be no, but i'd give you points for trying. ’
