Lots of SUPers and surfers miss waves or get tired arms from dragging around a lot of extra fin area. Every square inch is drag. Our WG2 longboard/SUP fin has about 20 to 30 percent less surface area--and less drag as a result--but ample hold, drive and tracking. Our WG2 has a bit more than 30 square inches in area. Most dolphin fins are about 42-45 square inches or more, so they slow a board and take more horsepower to paddle.
