These maps, by reddit user sp07, show the relationships between various European languages by highlighting the similarities and differences between their words for apple, bear, beer, church, cucumber, orange, pineapple, rose, and tea. I’ve posted some of these maps before (and even made a few of my own), but since they’ve been getting some recent attention around the internet, I thought I’d consolidate them.

Finished AssCreed IV today caution spoilers!! Much better game than III though not sure I really liked playing as "myself" Though I love the idea of working at Abstergo Entertainment and getting to go into the animus and explore history oh man Mary Read's voice actress was great, she pulled off the pubescent boy voice really well I love how the last achievement of the main plot is Saw That One Coming for the "revelation" that Haytham is Edward's son OH GOLLY I WAS SOOOOO SURPRISED heavy sarcasm that last shot when Anne is singing and Edward imagines all his dead pirate friends drinking around the table was really sad and so were Desmond's goddamn cell messages the Abstergo video things where some guy discusses why each past AC protag would not be a good protag were hilarious though... the intentional mispronunciation made me die a bit I think John the IT guy was the biggest surprise really FIONA'S GAMING ADVENTURES CONTINUE WITH DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS

Well this week was my first back at school. Besides the usual artsy stuff, my elective this semester is Japanese Culture. Some people what were there: -Two very confused looking architecture students -A girl who drew a fat cat type kawaii thing in the corner of the whiteboard -Some guy wearing a K-ON! shirt -A guy who thinks Supercell is "pretty good" -Some girl who knew how to write Shimono Hiro's name in kanji?! The teacher is super cute though... middle aged Japanese lady who throws Japanese phrases and words into her sentences accidentally. Just about everything ends with "desu ne" and when she changes topics, she says "dewa". She also thinks all anime characters are from Dragon Ball. This should be interesting

Okay so I finally finished reading Ceres: Celestial Legend. Managed to pick up all the volumes I was missing at a friend's local Goodwill, minus one, so I was able to (mostly) complete it at last. I can't say the ending was particularly surprising, but still man... Watase loves her "not quite happy, not quite sad" endings, doesn't she? It was the same with Absolute Boyfriend too. I might have to read Fushigi Yugi now, just to get a saccharine shoujo ending I can live with. She killed off only the characters I gave a shit about :C Damn

30 Day Anime Challenge Day Sixteen - Anime with the Best Animation

Without a doubt, it's Hyouka. The animation in this series is astoundingly good. From the surrealist art shots (as seen above) to the lovingly crafted renderings of the town of Kamiyama where everything takes place, this series is a joy to look at. The attention to detail is astonishing-- the reappearances of minor characters throughout the series give it a real feeling of truth, and the careful design work that went into even the characters who only appear as background filler is amazing. Each one could be the main character of their own story, which is a feeling I think KyoAni was trying to give here: though we follow Oreki's life, around him are other people living their own lives and telling their own tales. This series is by far the studio's magnum opus. KyoAni's other great work, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, is also beautiful to look at. I remember being impressed with some of the animation in Natsume Yuujinchou, too.

Okay so I finished Revelations and also played III Can't say I liked Connor much I have heard Edward is better at least so I will probably start playing IV tomorrow (although I was terrible at the naval battles so we'll see how I fare) I wish Haytham could have been the protag, he was the best part of the game

Last week of break seems to be game week... played Dragon Age II, finished Assassin's Creed: Revelations (at long last, I was playing this last goddamn Christmas), and now I'm on AssCreed III. How long do you friggin play as Haytham, I was under the impression Connor was the main man here Not that I don't like Haytham Sexy voice Speaking of sexy voices, some NPC or other right at the beginning had the same voice as Fenris from DA: II. Not nearly as hot though.
