Noragami manga reveals cover for volume 23
On the official site for the manga written and illustrated by the creative duo Adachitoka, Noragami, the cover of the twenty-third compiled volume was revealed, which will be released in Japan on February 17 in Japan.
Adachitoka began publishing the manga in Kodansha publisher’s Monthly Shonen Magazine in December 2010. The series is still in print and the publisher published the twenty-second compiled volume on June 17. The play inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Bones Studios, directed by Kotaro Tamura and scripts written by Taku Iwasaki, released in January 2014. A thirteen-episode second season premiered in October 2015. Noteworthy that the adaptation took some creative liberties by changing some events and the sequence of them.
Synopsis of Noragami
As a relatively unknown minor deity, Yato takes odd jobs for just five yen, with the goal of amassing a fortune large enough to build a shrine in his honor. But in addition to the darkness, he has another problem, his “Shinki” or comrade in arms has decided to resign, tired of being with a homeless god. Without a weapon, Yato accepts more jobs in hopes of soon finding a new partner.
While placing flyers to find a missing cat, Yato sees said cat and chases him, just as he is about to be hit by a car, Hiyori Iki, a nearby girl, pushes him out of the way and ends up hurting himself. After waking up, Hiyori discovers that the incident stemmed from her soul leaving her body, so Yato promises to return her to normal, for five yen, of course. But for this he needs a new Shinki, and it is there that he meets a rebellious spirit named Yukine.
