IM ON A MISSION, and a part of that mission involves following most/all hockey fans. yes, i have done this before (you can view that post here) but im convinced there are wayyyyyyyy more than 400 hockey blogs on here. Next Regular Season Game: October 7, 2016 against the Mississauga Steelheads at Hershey Center. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
Game 5 Win
The Firebirds branded the Ottawa 67's on Sunday, in overtime. The Firebirds are now 4-1 for the season, being undefeated at home. Luke Kirwan (forward) scored the winning goal in 1:14 into the fourth period. The Firebirds were marginally outshot 32-35 and gave up two power-play goals on nine opportunities.
Next Regular Season Game: October 2, 2016 against the Ottawa 67’s at Dort Federal Event Center. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
Game 4 Win
The Flint Firebirds singed the Sarnia Sting in a 7-4 victory. The Flint Firebirds offense was on fire, Nicholas Caamano (forward) scored his third season goal on a breakaway in the first 33 seconds of the first period. This victory makes the Firebirds 3-0 on home ice and 3-1 on the regular season.

Game 3 Win
September 24, 2016 - The Flint Firebirds gain a 2-0 victory over the Owen Sound Attack. The Firebirds currently have a 2-0 winning home streak. The Firebirds have a total of six goals and have not allowed a single goal through two games at Dort Federal Event Center. Goalie Garrett Forrest recorded his first career shutout in the OHL. While Nick Caamano (forward), Ty Dellandrea (forward) and Ryan Moore (forward) continue to gain a point streak in three games.
Next Regular Season Game: September 24, 2016 against the Owen Sound Attack at Dort Federal Event Center. Puck drop at 7 p.m.
Game 2 Loss
September 23, 2016 - The Firebird were strong but unfortunately fell to the Rangers 4-2. Defenseman Mathieu Henderson scored his first goal of the season. Also, forward Ryan Moore received third star honors (with one assist) and forward Ty Dellandrea scored for the second time in his OHL career.
Next Regular Season Game: September 23rd 2016, 7:30 pm Flint Firebirds vs. Kitchener Rangers at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.
Game Opener Win
September 21, 2016: The Flint Firebirds were on fire with a 4-0 shutout victory. This starts the season with a 1-0 record. Firebirds outshout the Spirit 26-23. Firebirds’ forward Ryan Moore received first star honors (two goals and two assists) and forward Nicholas Caamano with the second star (one goal and three assists). Also goalie Matthew Menna was the third star of the game (23 saves and recording a shutout).
Opening Night
Opening Night has officially arrived! Puck drop is at 7pm at Dort Federal Event Center, against the Saginaw Spirit. Go Firebirds!
Regular Season Game: The Firebirds first 2016 regular season game will take place on Wednesday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Dort Federal Event Center. Firebirds will face the Saginaw Spirit.
Final Preseason Game Win
September 10, 2016: The Flint Firebirds win against the Saginaw Spirit, 2-1. They conclude the OHL preseason with a 3-1 record. During the second period, Firebirds’ own Jack Phibbs was injured and had to be escorted off the ice by the team and trainer. Word of his injury is still unknown.
Final Preseason Game
The Firebirds enter tonight’s game against the Saginaw Spirit with a 2-1 record through three games this preseason. Puck drop at 7:05 at Dow Event Center.
