Nusira of Aralath -

Finished this one with esp thanks to @viviane-lefay because if it wasn’t for your unending support I wouldn’t have 1% of the lore I have today.

I imagine many outfits and hairstyles for her but this one is like her official one or ceremonial look if you will… I tried to make her very unique looking and a mix of civilization references such as Egyptian, Indian, Thai, etc..^^

Nusira is partially inspired by Pele, Hawaiian Goddess of Fire and Volcanoes, and visually I use as reference mainly the gorgeous vampire Akasha (Queen of the Dammed) and a bit of Dame Vaako (Riddick).

Another one of Rastaban, this time he’s wearing some avian featherwork, esp. for @viviane-lefay who gave me this lovely idea… 

He’s a pacifist after all. It suits him to enjoy other cultures..

Rastaban – β Draconis (Beta Draconis): the third brightest star in the constellation. The star’s traditional name, Rastaban, comes from Arabic and means “the head of the serpent.”

“The history of Draetera took a darker turn after the priest of the dragoness Polaris, Rastaban, and his spouse, the queen Seryndra were murdered by dragon slayers while on their way for a diplomatic meeting at the heart of the northern human kingdom, Novencia. 

The effects of this event ripples to this day… 

Draetera lost its ‘guiding light’ and prophesied ruler in the same day. Polaris flew north in anger and sadness… their young, unexperienced daughters Sindra and Nix were left alone in this world with only their tormented aunt, Kigaly to look after them. An alliance between the two embittered races involved in this became impossible after a maddened Kigaly rose to the throne. Accusations and chaos spread, igniting bloodshed and finally, war…

Eventually even the avians, the reclusive people of the skies would be dragged into the bloody mess. 

A quest for revenge begins as Sindra draws her sword and unleashes her wrath.”

It took me a while to decide on some details… in the end I decided he and Polaris would have delicate, branching/antler-looking horns…

Dusk (2012)

I still like this one even the drawing is kind of off, because of the crazy armor detail… this one has Egyptian influences…  a fireproof, golden armor for Aquila made of the legendary flammerium (a rare metal with magical proprieties that can be found within floating isles), encrusted with ornamental rubies. It is designed to be pretty and majestic, but it is also functional and lightweight. The avian body isn’t physically strong enough to take many hits, so they fight based on velocity and precision, aided by their magic abilities, and of course taking advantage of flight.

It represents the sacred power of the phoenix, as keeper of the fire and bringer of life…. and the sun, that rises from its death daily, continuing the unending cycle

Seryndra & Kigaly (colored)-

I might change the schemes yet, I’m experimenting… but I think it makes sense for Seryndra to have purplish hair.. (because Nix’s hair is light lavender while Sindra’s and Kigaly’s are pure white). Purple runs in the family.. its also in Ishanur’s eyes.
