Okay I gotta rant. I will preface this saying I love six if crows and Leigh's storytelling. So don't come at me. but I really don't like tne King of Scars duology. I don't think I am the only one that has issues with it but I just wanted to go over the biggest issues in this post.

The pacing is so off. Like at times I was just plain bored. This was surprising since I could not put the other books down

Zoya turning into a dragon. While yes that did have shock factor and it was great when she burnt the fjerdan army down. In retrospect I can't help but feel like it was lazy writing. Like I don't like 3rd act metaphysical changes at all (re: cardan in the queen of nothing). It feels like you've just created an army so big you nee something bizarre to happen to defeat them. And yes, it was bizzare even for a fantasy series.

Hanne turning into the prince. Okay, leigh was making a statement about body/gender dysmorphia and truly feeling like yourself. What I don't get is how is changing her body into a man she despises and pretending like someone else 24/7 is supposed to help her 'feel like herself'? Hanne deserved to choose her own body. She deserved to decide who she wanted to be. This just feels like trading one prison for another

The darkling coming back. It just undid so much. Like all of Alina's suffering is for nothing? You made her sit in front of him and then accidentally help in resurrecting him. That was just plain cruel. But i think the worst bit was his ending. I think we established that the darkling was delusional when he thought he was fighting for a bigger goal, when in fact he was just power hungry. We realised he wasn't some great commander but a manipulative little shit. He sold people ideas while working for his own power. He was cheap conman at best. But allowing him to be self sacrificial and having a hereos death was just so so bad. Like no he didn't deserve that all. And you know what that little bitchboy would've never done it. He wants power more than anything, this was never sbout the grisha or saving the world. UGH it makes me so mad

With the recent the Witcher drop in ratings for s3 (and a bigger one expected for s4) do you think it's more likely Netflix to renew sab? I would think so. It may didn't do the Witcher s1 numbers but it has a steady audience while the Witcher drops with every season and no one wants s4.

I hope so. I'm ready to be free of The Witcher whereas SaB is cheaper to film and has way more potential. Plus it'll wrap up in 2 seasons anyways, so it has a plausible end.

I did hear S4 for TWN was on hold and it's such a big cash cow I don't know that the view ratings will be enough to justify it.

And with the strike and what that will cost these studios, I think big budget shows are going down the drain.

Either way, S4 will likely be its last if it survives this strike.

She is picturesque- not a thing out of place, and as a man who's been at sea for the last three weeks he'll admit the predominant desire in him is to change that. He walks across the room to her, Zoya turning at the sound of his footfalls. "No apologies?"

He drops to the floor on one knee, taking her hand and pressing it to his lips with a stupid amount of theatrical display. "I am sorry, Your Highness.

"Stand," she says dismissively. "Not what I meant."

"And what might it be that you meant, my dear?" Nikolai asks as he rises.

She smiles, or there is the hint of a smile on her face-- and then she kisses him. They do not make him forget his name, these kisses of hers-- it is more that he remembers himself for the first time, that when he is holding her he is the truest version of himself he has ever known. "I meant," she murmurs against his jaw. "Show me."

He does, of course, with pleasure-- and he make sure that saints forsaken ribbon is the first thing to hit the floor.
