Bubble Art! {Maria & Lisa Scott}

Lisa turned to her stakes and then back to the girl and Charmander in front of her. “Well, this is definitely an art experiment for sure!” She chuckled at herself. “My name is Lisa Scott, first year here…and this is my partner Squirtle.” She motioned to her partner who was enamored by Charmander’s tail. “Oh wow Squirtle, this is your first time seeing a fire pokemon with an active flame on them huh!” Squirtle nodded jumped out from behind Lisa and tried dancing with Charmander. Lisa covered her mouth and laughed at the display, “sorry he gets excited when he meets new friends especially pokemon he has never seen before.”

"But oh, yes!" Lisa absent mindingly continued. "The bubble stix as I call them have a dye that react to water. I thought this would be a fun artist way for Squirtle and I to train!"

"I can definitely tell. I've never heard of bubble art before but seems interesting" Maria observed, looking at the girl and her pokemon which happened to be that of a water pokemon. Charmander didn't do so great around other pokemon in general; water pokemon wasn't going to be any better. Maria chuckled nervously when the other girl talked to her pokemon about Charmander's flame. "No, it's totally fine. Charmander just isn't very... friendly when it comes to pokemon" she said with a shrug, watching how Charmander wasn't dancing in turn with Squirtle and instead giving it a deadly glare, eyes squinted and nose scrunched up. 

"Sounds like a good idea" she pointed out, sitting down against he brick wall with her arms crossed. It didn't take long for her fire pokemon to decide to climb on her lap and continue to glare at the opposite pokemon. "Can I watch?"

The red beam shot out as the Pokeball opened up and went straight behind Marty, the Pokemon materializing behind him and grabbing Marty’s leg. “Teh-deh.” 

"Now, come on, Sweets." He said, reaching down and picking the Teddiursa up.

Maria's eyes widened as she watched the poke ball release his brand new edition to his little squad and she covered her mouth in astonishment to just how cute his little Teddiursa really was.

"Oh my god! He's the cutest thing in the whole world!" she gasped, kneeling down to it's level and extending her hand to shake it's little paw. "I'm Maria, Sweets" she introduced herself.

Aurora was slightly embarassed that she didn’t immediately show the same concern for her Torchic as Maria did, but she gave her a small smile as she took the Torchic off of her hands. “So you care about me and my Torchic. Surprising, I must say” she chuckled. She carried her Torchic for a few moments before it started to squrim in her grasp. With a sigh she let it back onto the ground, watching it hop right back up to the spot it was in before. “Hey, be careful!” she stressed to the tiny bird Pokemon, rolling her eyes at the way it seemed to have a will of its own as she followed Maria and her Charmander outside. “Thanks, by the way” she told Maria quietly.

"No, I only care about your Torchic" she corrected with a small huff, chuckling to herself how her own pokemon wasn't even listening to it's Torchic. It was amusing. Maria adored both the fire pokemon walking in a line and then looked over at Aurora when she was thanked for taking care of her Torchic. "It's fine" she shrugged. "You got a nickname for her?" she asked.

"Brooke.." Brooke muttered, peeling away from her books to look at her new roommate.

"I'm Maria" she introduced herself, stuffing her hands in her front pockets and looking down at Charmander before looking back at her roommate. "And this is Charmander" she said, patting her partner's head.

"I have no idea. It was tough for Charmander and I. What do you think?"

"C’mon out, Sweets. I want you to meet my friends." Marty said to his Pokeball. He looked up at the other. "He’s shy."

Maria smiled and giggled lightly when his new pokemon didn't want to come out of his poke ball to meet her and Charmander. "Come on, little buddy. I won't hurt ya" she promised.

Faye was expecting some yelling, maybe a glare and possibly even a threat. The response she got from the other girl was far from what she thought she’d get, which made her feel a little better. Though she still felt bad about Cubone - who was still swinging the bone - hitting her, knowing she wasn’t going to yell at the two of them relaxed her a bit. “Yeah, he’s alright I guess,” Faye jokingly said, looking down at Cubone who quickly glared at her before turning his eyes back to the newcomer. “He has a bad habit of always swinging his bone though, to which I really am sorry about him hitting you. Oh, uh I’m Faye, by the way.” Faye reached her hand out and, as she readjusted Cubone on her hip, she saw the Charmander standing among them. “And who is this little one?”

Maria ignored the hitting of Cubone's bone because she was too infatuated with the pokemon. She's never met a ground pokemon before and seeing Cubone made her become speechless for a moment. She laughed softly at the girl's joke and looked up at her, just realizing they haven't met before. She smiled at her introduction. "I'm Maria" she introduced herself, looking down at Charmander when Faye pointed her out. she bent down and picked him up to hold him against her hip like a child, "this is Char" she chuckled, his little paw wrapped around her finger. He was glaring at Faye's Cubone.

Late nights:: Open

If there was one thing Shae understood it was how quickly the fear could set in when one of his team went missing. “Shit uh..”Still in a haze from how long he’d been staring at his computer screen he rubs at his eyes. “Shit…shit..Charmander?” He shakes his head. “I’ve been working on this Thesis paper for a couple hours..I haven’t left my room.”

Shae looks at his laptop and frowns. “It’s past curfew.. You’re fucked.” He turns back to the girl and immediately regrets his choice of words.. she was scared.

"Listen..my Pignite always runs off to the sandy part of the quad when she’s been pent up for too long.. I see a lot of fire types there..If you want I’ll help you check there."

Maria could tell that Shae was either just woken up or he was staring way too long at something very late. By the looks of him being in front of the computer, he was probably on it for hours now. Good thing she disturbed him or his eyeballs would've burned out by now. "Yeah. Knee high, fire on his tail, orange and yellow" she says, describing him with slight sarcasm in her voice but she was genuinely worried. She sticks her tongue out at him when he announces how 'fucked' she was because she already knew that. "Thanks for letting me know, Captain Obvious" she snorts sarcastically. She listens to his words and nodded, walking backwards back into the hall, "that'd be great, actually. It's just weird, he's never... done this before."

It was a quiet night outside and rather chilly which, luckily, Maria liked a lot. The cold never bothered her since she had grown up in Alaska. Land of the snow. Or, whatever they call it. She was roaming the outside field of the academy with her Charmander sitting on her shoulder, his little arms wrapped around her head and his nose snuggled in her blonde hair. He was cold but putting him out here would toughen him up. She had heard a noise that startled slightly and it caused her to dramatically turn around and squint her eyes to see if she'd spot anything. "Hello?" she says and then rolls her eyes at herself. "Yes, talk to the serial killer, Maria" she mutters under her breath, her breath visible in the air because of the coldness.

"I mean, I love all my pokémon. Tepig just has a stronger bond, I think. Because as much as I love my Growlithe and my Flareon, they didn’t choose me. Tepig did." Clover shrugged. She always felt a close bond with her Tepig, even though she’d grown close to all of them. She looked down at her Flareon, smiling, "Maybe one day I’ll take her to a contest. She does love to be the centre of attention."

Maria intently listens to Clover's story about her pokemon because she loves to listen to any story that involved pokemon. She was jealous that Clover had a Growlithe because Maria herself had been wanting to catch one but no such luck. "That's awesome, though. All three of those pokemon are perfect for you" she tells her. "I'll definitely vote for her, that's for sure."

Marty cleared his throat, having heard the femininity himself. “Yeah. It really does look like it.” He said, watching the two.

Maria smiled as she watched both pokemon actually sharing the leftover crumbs of her cheesecake instead of Charmander fighting for it like he usually would've. She looks at Marty, "have you battled anyone yet?" she asks, "because I'll volunteer."

Late nights:: Open

It was late at night and Shae was up -as usual- finishing one of his assignments last minute. Just when the monotony of typing was getting to him someone came knocking at his door. “It’s open!” He calls cautiously knowing his roommate wouldn’t knock and no one else coming to his dorm this late would have any good news.

Maria knew it was late and she knew it was disturbing other students but she was worried. She had came back from the bathroom to find that Charmander wasn't in her room. She was panicked and she knew the rules; that girls weren't allowed in the boy's dorms and vice versa. But she'd do anything to find her firestarter. She knocked quietly on the door and waited for an invite before walking in. She offers an awkward wave and a quiet chuckle, "sorry to- uh- bother you and I know I'm not allowed on this side of the building but I can't find my Charmander soo.. have you seen him?"

Journal Entry #1 ; Dec. 8th, 2014

Dear Journal,

Or whatever I should call you. They want us to write down the interactions and progress with the pokemon and trainers interaction. I don't know how to word all this so I'm just going to write whatever pops in my mind.

"Aw Cubone, you’ll be okay." Faye picked her Cubone up, balancing him on her hip like a child. "We’ll get you to the nurse’s office right away to get some medicine," she said as he coughed onto her shoulder. Faye was paying more attention to the Pokemon in her arms than the rest of her surroundings. She didn’t see the other student until it was too late and Cubone’s trusty bone hit the student in the shoulder. "Shit, I’m sorry!" She practically yelled, trying to grab Cubone’s hand from swinging the bone more. "He just, y’know, does that and I didn’t see you and shit I’m really sorry."

Maria was walking down the hall idly with her Charmander by her side. They were planning on snagging a few snacks from the vending machine before curfew because they just couldn't help themselves. Maria wasn't paying attention to her surroundings as well because she assumed her and Charmander were the only ones awake. But, she was mistaken when she was randomly hit on the shoulder with a bone but none other than a Cubone. She's never seen one before so instead of saying 'ow' she had said 'aw'. "He's so awesome" she adored, completely ignoring the girl's words. Of course, her little Charmander was becoming jealous; his little arms crossed over his yellow chest.

Bubble Art! {Open}

Lisa propped up the large blank canvas against the school’s cool brick. It was early in the morning and an hour and a half before breakfast would be served. Her favorite time to knock some art out of the way. “Aww, perfect.” She grinned at the canvas as she closed one eye and framed it with her two hands interlocking with fingers in an ‘L’ shape. Together they made an oblong rectangle that she twisted and contorted as she weaved her head back and forth, trying to find the perfect angle for her masterpiece.

She took a few steps back, “perfect, now next part.” She mumbled to herself as she happily pulled five slender stakes out of her art supply satchel. They were five colors: red, blue, orange, yellow, and lavender. Each with a rounded hollow circle at the opposite end of the stakes’ points. “Okay Squirtle rise and shine we got art to do my watta brotha!” With that there was a flash of light and her tiny turtle partner emerged.

Startled Lisa got the pricks on the back of her neck, someone was coming. She cautiously turned and hoped she wasn’t busted for being up early, or painting outside, or she had not idea really what for but the silent emergence of any guest she supposed just spooked her. She turned toward the figure, “oh hi! Didn’t think anyone else would be up this early.” She smiled with eyes clenched so tight they looked more like tiny slits upon her face. She scratched the back of her head as if rummaging through her tangled jungle of bed head would provide the next line she should sputter. “Would you want to join us?” She sighed and laughed at her pathetic invitation. “Squirtle and I were gonna do some neat bubble art if ya wanna try!”

Maria usually didn't wake up this early on the account of always pushing it to the last second when getting up and getting ready for class but her Charmander wasn't any better. He was just as lazy as her and you know what they say; they pick it up after their trainer. But this morning, she had randomly awoke and found herself unable to go back into her deep, lazy slumber. After thirty minutes of trying, she had given up and got out of bed, grabbing a jacket and typing the strings on her grey sweatpants before waking up her Charmander. Of course he growled in protest but then he realized she was leaving and he had to be glued by her side.

She thought about going to the cafeteria for breakfast but it seemed to early for that. It was closed but to her luck, the vending machines were open. She had bought a bottle of orange juice and Charmander a carton of berry pokesnacks before continuing on their stroll around the school. She had just realized she had never seen the school this quiet and empty but, then again, she's never been up this early. She was passing by a window that shown the field in the back of the Academy, noticing a girl and her Squirtle were doing something with a canvas. What she had so far on her easel was surprisingly pretty and Maria was never one for art.

She had decided to enter outside and observe them from a distance for a moment, Charmander too into his pokesnacks that he had a berry mess all over his mouth. The little buddy never could help himself when it came to food; just like Maria. Maria looked around when the girl suddenly invited them over, pointing at her own chest and mouthing the word 'me' in question before strolling over. She knelt by them, Charmander licking the remains of berries on the carton, as Maria surveyed the both of them. "How would bubble art even work? Wouldn't it, you know, pop?"

Marty cooed happily as he watched the two Pokemon lick the plate together. “Oh my god, that is so cute.” He said, sounding rather like a girl.

Maria laughed along and noticing how feminine he sounded when he exclaimed just how adorable their pokemon were. But, she wasn't going to address it. "It is cute. Looks like they're gonna be good friends" she says with a nod.

Clover smiled, nodding, “My Tepig practically chose me. Even if he hadn’t, I would’ve picked him. I like to think that all pokémon owners have a special bond with their first pokémon. They’re special.” She shrugged, “I don’t think that battling is right. Honestly, I think my Flareon wants to go into contests, but battling is the last thing she’d want.”

Maria was smiling as well because she loved to hear first time pokemon stories or any story that involved pokemon, especially ones that were fire. "It is special. I don't think some people really get that" she shrugged as she pondered over her idle thoughts. "Contests are cool too. She'd win the cool one that's for sure. With her fire spin and everything."
