Xanen: Things are going to happen outside of our control, Kamara. You need to stop blaming yourself for Atlas. What happened...wasn't because you were a terrible leader. You were the best you could have been in that moment. It wasn't your fault. Stop. Blaming. Yourself.

Laina: I know nothing of Atlas, outside of his Ghost and Memories...but his final moments of what I could peace together wasn't that sadness nor despair. It was of joy. He gave his life willingly to save both of you, and it filled him with joy. He was selfless and kind from what I could feel. He didn't want both of you to feel sad about it.

Kamara, tearing up: Yeah...That sounds like him, t-the big softie.

[Even after two years since the death of her teammate, Atlas-35, the former Warlock of Fireteam Knight, Kamara is still very sensitive about it. She hated that feeling powerlessness and still feels guilty about how that ended. It is that reason that she is strict on Laina as she worries about her meeting the same end.

Still, the Festival of the Lost is actually a painful time for her, constantly running away from those emotions by burying herself and her team in fieldwork.

She does grieve, sliently and privately, away from those who can see her. She still puts on a brave face for those who need her as she doesn't want other to see her as an emotional mess.

It isn't healthy but it is the best way she knows how to deal with things like this.]

[Xanen was probably the closest one to Cayde among the three since he did work under him for quite sometime. Being the Vanguard Bow after Tevis passed during The Taken War meant becoming like Cayde's right arm man but he played it fast and loose like Cayde usually did.

Cayde knew Xanen probably didn't have the stomach of rounding up the Scorn the first time so he left him to his own devices as he dealt with Petra's problem with his own posse. Lucky that he did since Fireteam Knight had to deal with both the Forest Temporal incident and The Hive Resurgence on Mars but he did call on Xanen for the Prison of Elders Riot as he did need his bow for this one, as the tether could make for some good binding rope.

It was then that Uldren's plan went into action and, even though Xanen tried his hardest to save him after feeling his Ghost die, Cayde couldn't stop fate from turning his luck sour.

Xanen tried his hardest to stop Cayde from dying, even trying to use his Arc class to try and reboot his core, but the damage had been done. Cayde was beyond saving as Cyan stopped him after the second shock. He died right in front of him, in his arms.]
