Not really music related but also kind of and those who know know. It’s the guy’s birthday today and the only reason I got reminded of this was because he used to be my bias from a certain group, and I mean that I liked him the most for several years. I just wanted to vent a little bit I guess because I haven’t talked about this much and any thought about him that I have now is so insane and genuinely makes me so irritated. From what I know, the guy 1. said that what he did was an accident (literally one of the most absurd, most infuriating things I’ve ever heard from any former idol ever and I would be REALLY shocked if it was truly their first time doing that), 2. asked to pay the victim of his crime (wouldn’t be surprised if he blackmailed the girl with photos or videos tbh), and 3. expressed “remorse” but appealed MORE THAN ONCE to shorten his sentence, which is an already VERY short sentence imo. Like for a crime like that it is RIDICULOUSLY short. He gets off easy after 3.5 years which is literally shorter than many college degrees while the victim may suffer from this for the rest of her life. If I was the judge I would’ve upheld the original 7 years after he appealed once and then I would’ve added another 7 years after the second appeal, and if he dares to appeal another time it’ll be another 7 years and so on. He should be eternally grateful that he wasn’t sentenced to life because that’s what he really deserves. To this day I still can’t believe I used to like this absolute pos, and for several years too.
