The sound of the trapdoor banging against the floor causes Marinette to jump three feet in the air, caught completely off guard. Bridgette’s crazed expression doesn’t do wonders to calm the poor girl down much, either, and it takes a moment for her words to properly sink in. “…What? Um, I think Mama used the last of it a few nights ago…we can go get some, if you want.”

Half between, she dangles. Legs splayed down the climbing ladder, elbows pressed against carpet floor, head resting atop palms. “ Yes ! ” Grumbling, growling, stomach rumbles. Is it the first thing she’ll eat all day ? Forgetfulness, her eventual downfall. “ I’m hungry, Mari. I need something sweet. And I wouldn’t want to get it with anyone other than my favourite cousin ! ” It was a LIE, actually, but her first choice would never agree to it.
