Your Dick and Damian stories always bring me joy, especially those of Dick mourning Damian’s death, there's just an air of brokenness or stillness in those fics.

Thank you! There’s something so cathartic about writing grief, at least for me. And from Dick especially. I’ve been through a lot of grief and mourning in my life, and writing has always been how I dealt with it or let it out. Healthy ways of coping? I don’t know her, haha.

And thank you. I hope it does too. I’ve heard inklings that they’ve been seen in Sioux Falls, (where I live) but I haven’t seen anything. Not like Minnesota. Please keep them in your thoughts, hopes, prayers and focus. With news dying down about them, they need help and support now more than ever.

While reading your last post, I remembered you writing a couple of things – I hope I'm remembering correctly – about Damian distancing himself from Jon because he feels he's not good enough for him. Maybe I'm wrong, sorry, but that's just how it is when you check to see if you've posted anything first thing in the morning. If Batfam heard that you think Damian isn't good enough for Jon, how would they feel and think? I mean, they have a family relationship, for better or worse, and I'm curious how they would react. Do you think one of them would say to Damian, "You'd be a bad partner for Jon"?

I think Tim would absolutely say that to Damian and mean it, and I think Jason would in a moment of anger, but regret it later.

If Bruce heard it from an outside source, he’d be furious. If he heard Damian say it about himself, he’d be sad, but empathize because he feels the same probably, in terms of Talia or the League and the like.

Dick will be furious, and physically fight anyone who said it - Damian included.

Jon, Cass and Steph would just be sad, if they heard it.

Jon, of course, would do everything in his power to prove the person - and Damian - completely and wholly wrong.

Presumably, all of these questions have been asked in the writing process. So, is there any chance you could suggest a few headcanons for Jon, Damian, and Dick?

Jon and Dick get jealous of each other when it comes to hanging out with Damian one-on-one. All three hang out, sure, but that’s a different vibe.

Dick sometimes forgets that just because he was the first to love Damian doesn’t mean he’s the only one anymore.

Jon sometimes forgets Damian has a whole family who would kill and die for him, that it isn’t just him, and never has been.

So if one of them hit up Damian and he says ‘Sorry, I’m with {the other one}.’ It hurts just a little bit more. Because he feels entitled to that time. Because no one loves Damian like he does.

When Damian is slated for incredibly dangerous mission, both Jon and Dick also volunteer, or just go with uninvited. If Damian gets hurt in the field, they blame each other, because the other should have protected him better.

Jon was a fucking Super, how could he have let Damian get hurt? Dick was Damian’s big brother and the (second) most experienced Bat, how did he not leverage that power to convince Damian to stand back?

Damian is, of course, none the wiser. Tim tries to tell him, but Damian just…doesn’t believe him.

Bruce is wholly aware, and is a mix between amusement and exasperation.

-They never mention a mother, so Jon as his other parent (and jondami canon) confirmed

-‘Dame’ is a stupid nickname that Damian would never accept and Tim would never fucking say, so.
