It was night in the forest. Anya could barely see in the gloomy darkness, but nevertheless she walked carefully through the pitch black woods. Wolves howled far behind her, but she kept blindly picking her way through the underbrush.
That is, until she ran straight into someone.
Sayaka quickly flew through the forest, crasing into a few leaves and tree branches. It was so dark, even with her generating a small amount of light. She had been running for what seemed like hours now, until she rammed face first into a giant being. âHey-! S-sorry- sor- âŠwoah.â she was taken aback at how large the centaur before her was
She blinked and looked down. Anya could only see a very small amount of light, and she had to squint to even make out the little fairyâs form. âH-Hello, little one⊠I am terribly sorry for getting in your way. I did not hurt you, did I?â The wolves howled again, closer this time, and she shivered.
âNo! no, Iâm okay, honest!â she stuttered. truth be told she was a little afraid of her. Frankly, she was used to being attacked or knocked out of the way by creatures bigger than her because of her small stature. She really didnât want to get knocked into the dark woods of the forest at this time of night. âuhâŠsoâŠâ there was a rustle of leaves in the nearby brush. Sayaka jumped and let out a small âeep!â before quickly rushing to the top of the centaurs head. She was a little embarassed, she was used to being a brave warrior, not some scared little lightning bug.
Anya smiled a little, then went to look at what had startled the fairy. She brushed the leaves aside to reveal a small songbird. It looked up at them, and then flew off. Anya smiled wider. âI do believe that little songbird will not bother you again.â
âYeahâŠwellâŠitâd better not mess with me!!â she said, watching the bird float away. She had about had it with these woods. She couldnât find her way home, the mission had been a total bust.
Anya sighed and scratched her neck. âSo, little one, are you headed somewhere? Can I help you in any way?â
"I...uh..." the little fairy was at a loss for words. The centaur seemed like a sweetheart, But her home was kind of a secret. They weren't supposed to really talk about it, you know? Fairies existed, but people had killed them and demanded wishes for centuries; it wouldn't hurt to be cautious.
"Nowhere!! Just, out for a moonlit flight you know? I was looking for my...my uh... my sword!! I dropped it."
It wasn't a total lie.
She had dropped her sword in fear of the smaller villainous creatures in the forest. Some knight she was.
