When I have down time, I like to learn from other artists. (Yes, I said artist. I refuse to use the adjective "creative" as a noun.) In his video, @seantuck discussed protecting your highlights as a mantra in photography. It's a way to make your photos feel more natural to the viewer, and subsequently, increase their power. Then, he seamlessly used the mantra as a tool for life, protecting the highlights of life, as a way to avoid getting lost in the criticisms and self-doubts that always barge in. The holiday season always feels like one filled with excitement, and for great reason! Family and friends get together all over to share stories of the past year and exchange gifts, taste the delicious family recipes that only come out once a year, and plan the great adventures of the year to come. Five Day is jumping head first into the season with some new branding. God knows I've accumulated more than a stocking's full of stories this year, some of which you guys and gals have been kind enough to listen to, like establishing a relationship with my first commercial client and numerous adventures during a cross country road trip! I've completed the third workshop from @alexstrohl now: this one he partnered with @finn and taught about telling a stories through photography. Finn also described some shooting techniques he likes to use, and my photo here is an example of that. It's in fact, 6 photos stitched together to increase resolution and detail.
