[ o9. Ice Skating ]
Time to lace up!!
Mustering up her courage, Flaky decided to hit the skating rink. Every day she decided she was going to try out one new thing a day and supposedly, today was the day she was going to try out ice-skating! The idea seemed like a good one initially, until she realized there was one tiny flaw about it: she couldn't even skate. Flaky had never been taught as a little kid how to balance on four wheels, much less a tiny blade moving across ice.
But here she was now, at the grand foyer of the skating rink, nervously darting her eyes at the ground, as if finding it incredibly interesting. Feeling particularly cold, she tucked her nose and mouth into her scarf, the scratchy material tickling her nose. Maybe she should've come more prepared; After all she was going to be going to mere inches away from a solid ice. In between her gazes at the counter and at the ground, she moved slowly in line until, one-by-one she was finally at the front.
"A-Ah a pair of skates for one p-please."
Shyly, she thrusted her money out at the cashier, who quickly exchanged it, handing her a clunky pair of boots. Flaky headed over to one of the benches, plopping down and pulled up one of her knees to her. She unlaced her current shoes, pulling it off before slipping onto the skate; Although just her size, the shoe felt awkwardly bulky on her. Hoping the feeling would go away as she got used to it, the redhead laced up the other skate before standing up from the bench and, more importantly, without any support.Â
She was still a bit wobbly however, finding it hard to find her balance, even on regular ground. Silently, she encouraged herself, willing herself to walk over to the entrance of the rink at least. Unfortunately, the poor porcupine accidentally caught her blades in one of the cracks and it took her body a while to process that she was actually stuck so here she goes, tripping into another person.
Oops...!
