Sonia grit her teeth at Kabu’s question, her hand tightening around the pokeball she had in her fist. “This is the third time we’ve fought–and I lost. Again. What am I doing wrong?” Was she just not cut out for this? Should she give up and go back home?

In a professional setting, her pokemon were just weak and her tactics weren’t up to par. But as someone who does this for a living, and who understands a lot about human emotions...

 “Goodra a psuedo legendary with years of experience no thanks to you. Of course she would lead as if she was born to it, you raised her as so.” it was high praise... at least coming from Kabu , roltank steak sizzling as he flips it off the grill.

 “Here, straight from hoenne.’ green tea imported all the way from hoenne , a judgemental Centiscorph looking at Oleana like she’s the bug. And a lot of fire type pokemon in his backyard. Long time gym leaders have way too much money , especially for the thrifty kabu. 

 “Miss Oleana. I did not expect you at all. Is there a problem?”

 “Don’t you have a gym to manage?” and yet Kabu lets him inside his own house, very much a fire type trainer as there are several smoke ventilation systems around the house, open windows and open spaces. The smell of food being cooked was also tantliziing, considering that most of his Pokemon were carnivores.
